No diet. It’s a life change. Eat right and exercise. No fast or processed foods. Don’t watch the scale. With weights, start light with more reps. Always stretch first! Treadmill, walk fast a few minutes then jog 30 seconds to a minute. Do that till it’s easy. Aim for equal run walk time. High intensity work outs burn fat even after you stop exercising. Don’t overdo it. You will get there.

You bought the kettle bells, cool! If you want to keep the “around the world theme” my favorite workout I found this year is more easier with a kettle ball than a dumbbell. If anyone wants to try-Hold the kettle ball in front of you and bring it around you by lowering it behind your back and gathering it with the other hand bringing that hand now in front of you. Legit you’re just bringing it around your waste half way and grabbing it with your other hand counting and then going the opposite way when you’re done with a set of 12. Bring it around town…bring it around the world. It’s my favorite for sides of arms, upper back, obliques, love handles and the entire stomach area! If any one uses the dumbbells watch your toes. ❤

If he just started lifting heavy weights 3 times a week for 30 mins he’d probably even shed the weight regardless of what he eats. It’s much easier for men than women.

I wish the countdown clocks had a uniform system, but some will tell you the total days before the day you look up, while others will add the day you're looking up into the total. It's just a difference of one day each time, but it feels like there should be a standard. I use a Christmas one that counts down the hours/minutes until midnight on Christmas Eve/Christmas day. I don't think anyone celebrates Christmas at exactly 12:00 AM, but you know exactly what you're dealing with there.

Just chiming in here. When it comes to getting Health on track it takes more than just eating right and exercising. You need to have a full physical and you are 50 and this will become very important as you age. Having a clear picture of your health plus several bloodtests, can help you figure out what you can do for yourself. Just because something works for someone else, doesn't mean it'll work for you so you have to carve your own path and set baby step goals.

BTW, understand that weight loss is not due to exercise, but due to diet. When I lived in Honolulu, I would do the marathon. I could walk the entire course. a lb of fat is 3500 calories of stored energy. I would be between 6 and 9 hours with run, run/walk or just walk and I would burn between 4000-6000 calories IF I didn't take in any extra calories during the run. They offered the gel packet which depending on the type were between 100-300 calories per pack. They would generally offer 3 stations for the gels so that's 300-900 calories if you only accepted one pack at each station. So on the low end, if 4000 calories burned and added 300 calories of gel (not mentioning calories from Gatorade drinks which are in the same range) then you spent 6-9 hours to possibly burn 1 to
