You might consider getting a tablet or a small smart TV to stick on the wall in front of the treadmill. Something cheap. Then you can watch movies or TV shows more comfortably than on a phone.

No diet. It’s a life change. Eat right and exercise. No fast or processed foods. Don’t watch the scale. With weights, start light with more reps. Always stretch first! Treadmill, walk fast a few minutes then jog 30 seconds to a minute. Do that till it’s easy. Aim for equal run walk time. High intensity work outs burn fat even after you stop exercising. Don’t overdo it. You will get there.

You bought the kettle bells, cool! If you want to keep the “around the world theme” my favorite workout I found this year is more easier with a kettle ball than a dumbbell. If anyone wants to try-Hold the kettle ball in front of you and bring it around you by lowering it behind your back and gathering it with the other hand bringing that hand now in front of you. Legit you’re just bringing it around your waste half way and grabbing it with your other hand counting and then going the opposite way when you’re done with a set of 12. Bring it around town…bring it around the world. It’s my favorite for sides of arms, upper back, obliques, love handles and the entire stomach area! If any one uses the dumbbells watch your toes. ❤

Not true. He doesn’t smoke and gets a lot of exercise. I’m sure his heart is in great shape. He may shave a couple years off his life by eating what he wants and being a little overweight but he’s in better shape than most men his age in this country. If he just started lifting heavy weights 3 times a week for 30 mins he’d probably even shed the weight regardless of what he eats. It’s much easier for men than women.

Dude I have that EXACT same folding workout bench in my setup. Fair warning: I pinched the web of my hand pretty bad reracking the barbell since your hands are on the outside of the racks as opposed to regular gym benches so take extra caution reracking. Also the dip bar handles are way too unstable to do dips. Love the foldability and small footprint though. Cheers on your health and fitness that’s awesome keep it up, the consistency is key!

I wish the countdown clocks had a uniform system, but some will tell you the total days before the day you look up, while others will add the day you're looking up into the total. It's just a difference of one day each time, but it feels like there should be a standard. I use a Christmas one that counts down the hours/minutes until midnight on Christmas Eve/Christmas day. I don't think anyone celebrates Christmas at exactly 12:00 AM, but you know exactly what you're dealing with there.

Just chiming in here. When it comes to getting Health on track it takes more than just eating right and exercising. You need to have a full physical and you are 50 and this will become very important as you age. Having a clear picture of your health plus several bloodtests, can help you figure out what you can do for yourself. Just because something works for someone else, doesn't mean it'll work for you so you have to carve your own path and set baby step goals.

BTW, understand that weight loss is not due to exercise, but due to diet. When I lived in Honolulu, I would do the marathon. I could walk the entire course. a lb of fat is 3500 calories of stored energy. I would be between 6 and 9 hours with run, run/walk or just walk and I would burn between 4000-6000 calories IF I didn't take in any extra calories during the run. They offered the gel packet which depending on the type were between 100-300 calories per pack. They would generally offer 3 stations for the gels so that's 300-900 calories if you only accepted one pack at each station. So on the low end, if 4000 calories burned and added 300 calories of gel (not mentioning calories from Gatorade drinks which are in the same range) then you spent 6-9 hours to possibly burn 1 to

You’ll get back on track with the good habits, again. I think being cognizant is the most important thing, and you are 👍🏽 Edited to add the Halloween decor hanging out on the sofa always cracks me up 😂

Adam just get a small simple smart tv like 24” or something maybe even smaller and you can stream everything on it or add a fire stick or chrome cast.

I was about to say to and your mom rode in a tandem bike not too long ago on one of your little trips. Then I remembered it was one of those bike car doohickies.

Invest in a smart TV to hang in the garage. Put up some speakers and jam out to KZbin music while working out. Or watch movies if you enjoy that while you’re on the treadmill. Maybe you can score a good deal on a garage gym TV on Black Friday, nothing fancy.

Looks like you could drill 1 or 2 holes in the base and screw it to the board. Or you might want to look at useing the bottom of the cabinet and letting it hang down.

Hi Adam I watch ibxrunning videos on KZbin. The variety of treadmill workouts she on there has gotten me motivated again on the treadmill.

I turned 50 this year as well. I know what you mean, it's so much easier to be bad. I'm trying to eat better but I'm really struggling with getting the exercise in.
