Literally EVERYONE has high expectations of this game. If even ONE THING is messed up, Bandai Namaco will never hear the end of it. They better put their all into this game. Personally I have the most memory with the psp ones because my cousins had them as well. Tenkaichi 2 was pretty much how I learned the large chunk of the DBZ story and characters. Combat was great and felt fluid, my squad was Kid Buu, Teen Gohan, Super 17, Bardok, and Gotenks. The opening theme, Open Wings and Lost Courage are my jams. I am stoked for this game.

Sometimes the same charater are different slots, even in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. For example, Majin Vegeta was different from normal vegeta, and Mecha frieza was different from the normal frieza slot

I mean, that's how the Budokai games always were. Sure there were exceptions like Ultimate Gohan and Majin Vegeta, but only because those characters were specifically only in those forms at the time. Dragon Ball Super Gohan has shown that he can sequentially transform into Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Ultimate, and THEN Beast. So he'll most likely have all of those transformations rather than them being separate.

I would say we Dragon Ball fans have been eating good ever since the first Xenoverse game. Xenoverse was a good spin on the series, Kakarot was also did its own thing and was pretty good at that, Xenoverse 2 has an insane amount of content, and FighterZ its easely one of the best fighting games of all time. Favorite Tenkaichi memory: My friends and I had gathered together to play the Cell Games Tournament mode in Tenkaichi 2. We picked Goku (me), Broly (friend 1), Super 17 (friend 2), and Bardock (best friend.) Bots filled the rest of the slots and as we saw the lineup, we noticed that Bardock had to go up against 17 during the first rounds. My friends taunted my best friend about his inevitable loss since he wasn't that good at the game. Bardock seemed to just take in stride, but I could sense something was amiss. As their fight was about to begin, 17 was still taunting Bardock. Bardock's only response was a simple "Goodbye." As soon the battle began, Bardock was beating 17 all over the map. It was glorious to see. Eventually, however, Bardock lost the fight since he had to stop to charge his ki and 17 hit him with his bullet special. My best friend calmly put his controller down and said, "You may have beaten me, but you lost the tournament." He said this for two reasons: (1) He had decreased 17's life gauge all the way down to the last stock from his original 8 or so stocks. (2) 17 had to face me next and, since I had fought a bot earlier, I had taken no damage whatsoever and I was the best player in our group. After I won the fight, I told 17 that Bardock had beat him and I just finished him off.

When I heard that, It brought me back to the living room after school, and you and your best friend full palming the analog stick, screaming at the tv. And then your momma screams at you about how she trying to sleep... simpler times....

Didn't have to do Naruto fans like that lmao! But in all seriousness, as many here, I remember getting Tenkaichi 1 from an uncle and think "I'm freaking playing the anime!" as a kid. Then got 2 and of course 3. So many hours, so many characters. I remember loving been able to choose Goku's or Gohan (and others I think?) while SSJ with their clothes all ripped off, freaking ultimate level of badass. Now... we live in another era and as much as I want to be hyped for this I think it's all due to my nostalgia versus what this could actually be. I want to be as positive as possible but I'm cautiously excited. Things I'm worried about: good online (I don't think we will get that), is it really gonna make combat more fun and modern? how MUCH are those characters going to be cause we know they gonna sell tons as DLC and depending how they handle that it could be their ruin or a fair exchange for a fun and good game. Idk... let's just wait and see but hopefully this turns out amazing cause I cannot wait.
