I feel the same way as you and surprisingly I have already played the game for about three hours now in total and somehow I have not experienced any brokenness in the game. However, I have definitely experienced frame drops and framerate problems in general overall during my playthrough. I'm super surprised that I still have yet to experience any brokenness in this game like what's seen in clips posted on Twitter and like I mentioned above I only played about three hours so far.

The Pokémon Company and/or Nintendo really need to give GameFreak more time to develop their games. Even if GameFreak had a bigger team, some parts of video game development just require more time in order to reach a standard of quality. And with the amount of time and resources 3d console games (of good quality) require now, Game Freak just can’t maintain the same quality they had during their sprite era with the same amount of development time those games took.

They need to learn that when you are making a pokemon game like this they need a lot of time. @@Violent_Wolfen Hmmm, perhaps there are some high-ups at GameFreak who feel that way, but I’ve mostly heard stuff that the GameFreak devs are overworked and stressed from crunch. And that ultimately the ones who have the final say in setting the video game development cycles/calendars come from Nintendo and The Pokemon Company (the latter especially since it controls all of the other merchandising related to the IP). Either way it’s become obvious that the 3 year release gap between each mainline game (especially with world-wide releases being simultaneous and consistently a fall release before the winter holidays since the 6th Gen games) is no longer a sustainable mode of operation for GameFreak. They need to give themselves at least 3.5 years between each release, or better yet 4 years, espyif always releasing WW in the fall months before the winter holidays is considered and essentially element now too.

The worst part is that The Pokémon Company doesn't WANT GameFreak to take its time with mainline games anymore. It has become such a profit-centered corporation (Yeah, tell me if you heard that one before from other companies, I know), and they are basically forcing GF to pump out unfinished games on a yearly basis because they know the kids will eat up anything with "Pokémon" in the title anyway. I'm not throwing hate towards GF or their games directly, no. Because making triple A games is, believe it or not, actually a really damn hard, time-consuming process. And if they could just be given a longer time frame than just a mesly year, then maybe the modern entries could have the care and quality put into them properly just like how the 2d sprite games were handled. But sadly, I wouldn't get my hopes up on daddy TPC letting their money printer company work longer than a year to print one giant stack of cash. I personally am having fun with Scarlet even in spite of its terrible performance and glitches (oddly I haven't encountered the glitches myself, but definitely have had performance issues as a lot of people have had as well), but it still saddens my heart to see a company like GameFreak, that we know is fully capable of making heartfelt, completed games, be forced to pump out beta releases by their corporate father. Trust me on this. It's gonna get better. This is just the first year of GameFreak making more ambitious games. It only looks like they still aren't used to creating games this big that's why they haven't learned that much about optimization for now. Everything in this game is better than what we had since BW. The performance issues are the only things hindering others to enjoy a good game like this. For someone who grew up with shit PC for gaming, the performance is pretty normal for me. Perks of being poor. I do agree with the release cycle tho. They need to change up their release calendar because it's not a good schedule for releasing ambitious games. You can also say that something is fun or good, but also acknowledge that there is tons of room for improvement and still hold the company to a higher standard because you know they can do better. That's what a lot of people have been doing for the Mario Kart DLC, and it is getting better.

I can promise you, Nintendo (even the executives) are 100% as frustrated by Pokemon Company as the rest of us. They've spent almost 40 years building this airtight brand image of polished products that don't get released too early, only for their BIGGEST PARTNER to shit all over that _multiple times._ I guarantee if Pokemon wasn't the top-grossing franchise in the world they would've said something by now, but they aren't about to risk access to the golden goose over something as non-lucrative as principles.

Not a good excuse. Sonic 06 was peak creativity but was rushed and ended up like trash.(even if still fun) Aint no way we gonna let Pokemon fly just cuz its Pokemon

Nah its an amazing game. Frame rate issues are unnoticeable after an hour. Just beat it, easily the best pokemon experience since silver.
