This was wonderful! Love R.E.M., Mike Mills and Dan Patrick. I remember hearing this on the radio and I’d forgotten how great these 20 minutes were! 👍🍻❤️

R.E.M. was my favorite band growing up and Michael Mills was my musical hero. His bass, guitar, piano and that golden voice. He was the one that made being the smart, nerdy kid kinda cool.

I remember the day listening on radio and this came on. I stopped what I was doing and sang along. DP is the man and so is Mike Mills

"No, it gets bigger, what are you talking about?" That's why Mike has always been my favorite REM member, although the other three are thisclose! The Dale Murphy song kicks ass (just love "all the steroid eaters" part)! But WTF was up with him playing "I Am Superman" as an REM song? They did that as a cover -- although "and my hair is happening" was a witty substitute there - can't fault him for that one. And choosing "Rockville" was a no-brainer. Great Mills vocals on that one, as always. THANKS SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!!!

and fantastic singer! Could have been lead singer for any band. But obviously he had to take a back seat alongside Stipe.

My favorite member of REM, it be great to sit down and have a beer with him. My guess anyway. Musical director of the band, he came to the band with arguably the most experience. Witness, he showed Peter Buck how to play the guitar solo on Murmer's Talk About the Passion. Be great to hear him do a solo release. His vocals when backing Stipe are my favorite duo/combo of all time. Bill Berry in his time with the band made it a great vocal triumvirate. Fall on Me is a great example. Check out Texarkana and Near Wild Heaven on Out Of Time for fab Mike E. Mills lead vocals. REM and CCR are two great American bands, they have that in common. And little else. I'll reconsider Dale Murphy for the HOF. First blush, I'd say no but he does merit consideration.

Near Wild Heaven. The guy is gifted. Bill Berry was more than just a drummer. The four of them complement each other in so many ways. Lived in Athens 86-89, they were hard to miss, meet, and get to know. Mills is so damn friendly. All that.
