i feel bad for that cock roach he must be in a constant state of terror :( imagine being locked in a room w/ 5 crocodials and u couldnt get out :(( there should be 1 enclosure for cockroaches that survive more than a day or 2 in a spider or beetle enclosure if they escape the thing that was supposed to eat them for that long I think they deserve to live and they should be moved to cock roach retirement and get fed and looked after like the other insects. like if those were my beetles and I put a cock roach and it survived for that long but then one day I saw it getting eaten I would be really upset

I own two crested geckos and I’d recommend if you can to hold chips for at least 5min a day or 10min every other day. My boy crested gecko was nicknamed sassy due to his attitude towards handling after much time and patience he has gotten a lot better with handling and doesn’t see me as a big monster thing interrupting his sleep. :) hope this helps
@emmacarlberg46346 жыл бұрын
Well it stresses the gecko. Some geckos are just skittish and you can’t do anything about it much better to leave them alone. As babies they are skittish and jumping all over the place when they are adults they are often more calm and slower. Handling a gecko as less as possible is the best thing to do. I handle mine about two times a week at most. :) two of them are skittish and the other two are calm. They have personalities.

The kitty obviously loves you very much! To keep cats off shelves, you can use double-sided tapes. They hate touching sticky surfaces. You can either apply tape directly onto surfaces or get cheap placemats and cover them with double sided tapes. I like using the placemats because you can remove them quickly when you need to touch the surfaces.

Those yellow mushrooms aren't toxic to be around but are toxic to ingest they come from potting soil contaminated with spores or micelium and can be stopped by not keeping the substraight wet at all times but they are very common when growing veggies in pots or lifted beds

You should let the veterinarian check your frogs feces. Could be a bacterial infection or parasites. Both are treatable, but deadly if not treated. Hope your other frogs will be fine! Pozdrav!

This video is kinda old but I saw no one fully answered your question about the mushroom, mushrooms are just another decomposer. The mycelium in the containers actually benefit the plants too. I doubt they will cause harm is just remove before the make spores- but that’s my recommendation

As a mycologist, you definitely need to change the substrate, I use coco coir for my t's my python and all my plants and mycology work, the mycelium will spread across the entire substrate and pop up everywhere, they produce awful bacteria when they're rotting, and can mold along the mycelium.

When frogs dont have food for about a week they will completely go off their food and will refuse to eat until they die, i think your dart frog was either just really unlucky and couldnt find food, or he got trapped or stuck which prevented him from getting to that food.

You can do a time lapse the same way that the BBC would do time lapses for showing the growth of plants in their Planet Earth series. You set up a camera to take photos maybe once every 15 to 30 minutes and compile all the photos to show the gradual changes to the enclosure. If it was every 15 minutes, at the end of ten days you would have around 960 photos to showcase the changes to the enclosure.

Mushrooms just grow in substrate with perfect quality, which means that you have really nice substrate and this is awesome and not harmful for animals, when they don't eat them 🙂 Also I wanted to say, you need way more substrate for your millipedes... millipedes want to be way down in the substrate when they molt and when they don't have the possibility, they can die when they are molting, because of that... they need minimum 20cm substrate

Petko, do you give your frogs a vitamin A supplement such as the Repashy one? If not this could be a reason for your frog not eating and dying. Without vitamin A they are extremely susceptible to getting short tongue syndrome (STS). If you are not already dusting flies with vitamin A once a week, I seriously suggest you start doing so for the health of your frogs.
