hey dude. It wouldn't matter to me which terrarium is larger. Your Junglearium is a masterpiece, just like antscanada, but both very different. I look forward to both each time for a new video. please keep making videos of it

Antcanada's build is made with professionals, his format is kinda cinematic as well, yours is personal, you built that on your own, you just made it as you go, it's raw progress, there are mishaps but that's actually what's fun about it coz it's relatable, In fact, the way you deal with situation always amuse me. I never saw him plan that thing as well, pretty sure it's just because he saw yours that he decided it's worth as a content. Keep going mate, you're still the OG.
@iiiisssssaaaaaacccccc5 ай бұрын
Antcanada been planning this for about an year, so he didn’t see this and think “hey let do this for content” as you like to claim, ant Canada just like dark den did planning and built it on his own. The difference is that ant Canada have people helping him with construction and planning. Since ant Canada been doing this for ever now. He is a professional as well.

@@iiiisssssaaaaaacccccc no worries mate i like both, im not hating on AC, i like his channel too, i watch both, i just favor dark den as a hobbyist, it's raw, i can see the progress, i can see the imperfections, you'll see him build everything on his own, work out rough patches along the way, while AC is cinematic, and more focused on the animals and cinematography. two great channels. i just kinda relate more on DD as a hobbyist.

For egg laying, the frogs prefer dry or semi humid spots. My Phyllobates vittatus always lay their eggs black film canisters, which I just put down horizontally on the ground and keep completely dry (but the male will regularly return to then with a humid belly to keep the eggs from drying out).

This is looking awesome!! You should paint on moss seeds/spores onto the fabric so overtime when you water it it grows lush and green
@CourtneyinSF8 ай бұрын
I agree, sphagnum moss would be a great thing to grow as it benefits your carnivorous and orchid plants so much as a substrate. Plus would be very nice to have your own source to dry out for your tarantula enclosures. I think adding another nepenthes pitcher plant to your wall would be great because as they grow, many vine down to crawl along the floor. It would be a beautiful plant to place a little higher up the wall so it can cascade down the wall with lots of cute pitchers tumbling down. I would get a species that would not get too big either so you won't have to trim it up.

You should offer the frogs horizontal film canisters on the ground, or in the case of the auratus a petri dish under a half coconut shell with an entrance hole. They will not lay eggs in containers with water. These are where they transport their tadpoles once they hatch. If you don't offer film canisters or petri dishes they will just use smooth leaves to deposit their eggs and you may not find them.

You should check out the huge enclosure on the channel Brad's Bioactive Builds. It's considerably bigger. It's insane. It's like a construction project with a frame, what is essentially a built in sink, a water feature, a cave, a lay box. It's for Asian water monitors. Or croc monitors. Can't remember exactly. His channel is growing pretty fast but it's nothing like yours or Ants Canada yet

You all have different plants and critters so it's amazing to see! Edit: Have you thought about adding some climbing plants to the netted wall you just installed? Could a cool way to increase the immersion you were talking about when adding the bromeliads. 🙂

It sounds little bit weird but I always use the orchidees u got in supermarket for like 10 euro and I have no problems with them for real. When u place them between some other plants or like the bromelias at the side the roots will do their thing because in nature they grow on trees. For real orchidees are not this hard as u think bro test it 😊🫱🏻🫲🏼❤️

You don't need to dry the wall necessarily, there is silicone that can be used underwater (for aquariums) and can cure wet. (e.g. hobby 11968 fix underwater fix)
@T3kRazor8 ай бұрын
To stop the frogs from trying to jump out all the time, maybe you should add some sort of mesh across the bottom of the opening (maybe only 30cm or so). I'd expect with more animals added in, there'll just be more and more escape attempts. Also, for the wall over the water area, having that filled with more thirsty plants, like what you'd find near ponds/rivers/lakes might look interesting
@vwvw48 ай бұрын
I think orchids would be worth a try, since they would add something special to your junglearium. Also tribolonotus since they look like tiny dragons and stay a size appropriate to your other inhabitants.

Then use polyurethane adhesives on the second wall, it is love the moist. Btw I still think it is a bad idea to keep different dart frogs in one enclosure. Firstly I thought that they have a tons of space, so they will be fine, but seeing them interacting so much is worrisome. They stressing each other like crazy, since they are territorial

The junglearium looks to be set up with the larger plants. Now you should look into smaller species that are slow growing or that don't grow large, like microferns, very small species of orchid, mosses and liverworts, selaginellas. A lot of these can be mounted on your logs and rocks and on the hygrolon. I recommend the channel Troy Goldberg's Tropical Garage. He's has some videos featuring only the plants he uses and his footage is always amazing.
@LukeMcGuireoides8 ай бұрын
Also, you can get moss slurries that you can apply to the hygrolon with a paintbrush that will grow into a mat of live moss.

I almost posted a comment about him but remembered that you did all of this on your own while he had a bit of help making your claim a solid one from what I can see
