I found a random house spider today. Normally I end up vacuuming them up or just crushing them with a paper towel or something. Either way they used to end up dead. Today though I got one of my cups and let it free outside. I'm guessing that's b/c of Petko. Kind of funny and interesting how someone can change your behavior w/o ever interacting with you directly. Well Petko, you've saved a random spider today. Congrats!!! At least 'till mother nature gets it...
@Meyour671204 жыл бұрын
Never kill spiders! Every insects that can give you hard time (mosquitoes, cockroaches, flies, wasps...) are all killed by spiders. So by letting one alive you're always helping yourself. The only reason we don't use them for improve food production it's their tendency to cannibalize each other, making the investment by the farmer not really worth it.
@mydogeatspuke4 жыл бұрын
I always save spiders, even though I'm not much of a fan of house spiders (the giant ones are dumb and twitchy and move like they're drunk and that freaks me out), but usually just putting them in another room is enough. Throwing them outside in this climate, assuming it's also winter where you are, will leave them facing a pretty quick death if there are no safe holes near the door. They are honestly more scared of you than you are of them and would happily never see you at all if they could help it. Also like the other person said, they eat all kinds of awful pests, including ants and moths and flies. I used to feed a labyrinth spider in the bathroom of my old place with ants, she loved them and it helped with the fear. No idea how she managed to get in there, mind, but her web was spectacular!
@mehitabel12904 жыл бұрын
If only. I watch these vids till my eyes turn inside-out, but I still HATE house spiders (not all spiders, just the Tegeneriae) and am not proud to admit it, but they are the only creatures I knowingly kill. Because if you don't kill them, they will.................. Breed. *shudder!*
@assarstromblad32804 жыл бұрын
@@mehitabel1290 I try to release them outside, but then we have none of those big house spiders at home, we only have some kind of brown-ish smaller spiders with silver grey abdomen that have the shape of a tarantula (What I mean with that is that they have thicker body and shorter and thicker legs than most spiders). Those spiders do not really look too scary, but they are bolty as fk and if you touch them it's almost as if they teleport, which makes them hard and scary to catch. Do anyone know what species it can be? They are mostly grey/brown and never larger than maybe maximum 2 or 3 cm in length. Also i live in southern sweden if that matters.

Never been a massive fam if Nhandu sp., but can appreciate their beauty in videos like this.
