We FIRST MET Falcon when Captain America was doing laps on him jogging. Over and over and over. It was to underscore the difference between Cap and even a fit, highly trained soldier. There's just no comparison. And then they put the guy that they proved couldn't keep up in Cap's role. It's absurdity.

People forget that even characters who are relatively unknown to most like falcon have fans who like them for some reason or another. And instead of trying to showcase how cool that character is they're just going "nah, just make him captain America. He can't sell out a theater on his own." Which is crazy. If you had asked people in 2010 who Starlord, Black Widow, Black Panther, etc were and they weren't comic fans they'd have zero idea. Heck before Toby Maguire Spiderman the average guy wouldn't have even known who Sandman is. They became household names because Marvel SHOWED people why they were cool. They made plots that were good. Now it's just a blatant cash grab. And the crazy thing about it is people would make WAY more money if they just kept making heros they way people like them. Stop making Superman evil, stop making characters get rekt to showcase how strong someone else is, stop having every single film turn into a joke fest that can't have 10 minutes of serious events that doesn't either get totally reversed or turned into a "haha but actually silly joke" moment. And for heavens sake stop with the politics. I am far right guy. But if I went in to watch an Azrael movie and all I got was "athiesm bad!" I'd leave the theater. Peters Mom should not have been brought back. Hulk should have beaten Iron Man HARD. Scarlett Witch should not have outsmarted literally the smartest humans in marvel. Captain Marvel... well there's a lot that should've been different there. Anywho I could easily stuff 10 more paragraphs in this rant. But suffice it to say all they'll do is blame the fans and right wingers to try and keep left wingers watching it. But even they have gotten tired of this.

@@echothreeful Per the rumors he has a lot of Wakandan tech in his suit now, would not surprise me if they say the suit gives him enhanced speed and strength. Still doesn't justify how his body could take super human levels of shock and punishment, but general audiences don't care about that type of attention to detail. Black Widow started out as having to fight in a very specific way to handle men much bigger than her, and by the end she was going hand-to-hand with super powered Aliens. Doesn't make sense but no one seemed to care.

The big problem with him becoming Cap is his character is the most underdeveloped character besides the sidekick characters. Within the movies, what exactly is his story? Every character, with exception to Falcon, has had a beginning, middle, and end of a personal story. He, at best, is background fodder. They tried to shoehorn him into a story that he didn't belong to. He should have had more stories throughout the previous movies to get us to actually care for his story arc completion. TV shows behind a paywall are not the same as the movies. At the end of Endgame, he shouldn't have been given the shield. Rather, he should have been encouraged to go out on his own and leave the nest. He has been in the shadow of others, but he has all the tools he needs to forge his own path and leave his own mark as the FALCON. He doesn't need the shield nor anothers moniker to be a true hero. It really is that simple.

Its funny how many rewrites and reshoots films today go through and while I don't work in the film industry so I have little knowledge about how it all functions, I was under the impression that typically some one writes a script, often has illustrations made to help as they pitch it and then others come in to see how they can shoe-horn in endorsements as well as now a days DEI advisors step up to force stuff in as well before they start actually shooting the film. Then they do test screenings and start reshooting after the viewers tell them the movie sucks. Wouldn't it be cheaper and less time consuming to simply have some 'normal' people present during the pitch session to point out things that will need to be removed or reworked later on so the script is pretty much finalized to start with? I mean, I'm sure there's a ton of Marvel fans out there who'd 'consult' in this fashion FOR FREE just to make the movies watchable again.

what sucks it's that having falcon as the new cap isn't a bad idea. I think it could've been an easy hit with everyone but they just had to put in real life agendas in it. Look at Falcon and the Winter soldier. Two cap-related and loved characters in a show together while also introducing the US Agent set in a time after the snap and governments are trying to re form. The wings, guns and shield combo can give sam more versatility and creativeness in his fighting. No one complained when cap gave Sam the shield in avengers endgame (at least not that I remember). They could have had him take on minor thugs but face someone who is a genuine threat. He fails to do anything and regrets his lack of prowess compared to the others. In the end, he could be the game changer as he steps up in spite of his prowess. That would have made a good character arc.

Season 1 was so good, but I was expecting Mackie to show up and about half way through S1 started getting confused as to why he wasn't in it. Didn't know he was a recast for Season 2. S2 sucked so bad... While the main problems were beyond his control, he wasn't exactly carrying his own weight either.

I'm very doubtful regarding whether a "Captain America" film (of any quality) could be successful globally. The likely audience seems very small... Firstly, why would non-Americans care about America's hero? He doesn't affect us, unless our country is playing "the bad guy." Not many non-Americans are likely to watch the film. Secondly, I've been led to believe that a large amount of Americans hate America anyway, especially those progressive Americans who live in Hollywood (and the progressive post-teens who would otherwise see the film). So the Americans who hate America will be making a film about the "Hero of America" and about how he will "save America." This sounds like a pathway to failure and destruction. Will the "Enemy of America" be American Christians, the American Military, American pro-lifers or "the Patriarchy?" Imagine if the enemy was Israel... That would be idiotic to do but it is Hollywooders who are making the film. Thirdly, to my knowledge, superhero films have been so frequent that they are not as cool/popular as they were previously (regardless of the country watching). That's why every recent superhero film has had to try to be a comedy film as well (to my knowledge). It seems that if the film is to be successful, it will need to attract uninterested foreigners, not repel too many of the (divided) Americans and appear better (to the potential audience) than the countless superhero films before it... I don't foresee this happening.

(2) Steve Rogers leaving or passing in the mantle In the source material/ comics, Steve Rogers has died (at least twice) and retired from being Captain America (at least twice) whereby in all these scenarios someone else became the new Captain America. After one of Rogers retirement from being Captain America, he became a different superhero named NOMAD. There is speculation (unconfirmed) that Chris Evans returning MCU might be to play as NORMAD while in another (after he super soldier serum from drained from him) he became Chief of SHIELDs civilian oversight committee". (3) Legacy characters/ mantles: 3a) > Superheroes lore has a tradition of sidekicks and LEGACY characters for OVER 60 YEARS so superheroes can and have transfered and/or given and/or shared and/or picked-up their mantle with other characters. There are an abundance in superhero-dom from Blue Beetle, Flash, Green Lantern, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, ANTMAN, Hulk, Human Torch, Spawn, Robin, The Question, Solar/ Doctor Solar, The Atom, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Zorro, The Spectre, Mister Miracle, Doctor Midnite, GHOST RIDER, etc and so on. All these enhancements with such powerful materials are much STRONGER than IRONMAN's Hulkbuster armor made from ordinary materials which had NO vibranium and NO Adamantium yet Tony Stark used that to defeat an ENRAGED Hulk in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron including cracking Hulk's jaw and even tanked some hits from Hulk AND knocked a tooth out of Hulk's mouth. With those upgrades (vibranium + possible adamantium), Sam has a better chance fighting any Hulk in a dragged out combat against Red Hulk/ RULK as long as he fights smart and tactical just long enough for Sam and/or bis colleagues to to find a way to incapacitate Red Hulk/ Rulk. They have shown in the trailer how Sam's wings and suit and shield TANKING direct missiles hits without flinching and NO DAMAGE. Sam is shown using that vibranium enhancements to move FASTER THAN SOUND, making a heavy landing and TANKING sonic boom still NO DAMAGE because of the vibranium. Trailer also shows the wings can be used offensively to cut/ slice stuff like he did to the burning vehicle. They are not showing us all that in the trailer by accident. Go watch the THUNDERBOLTS trailers and see what Bucky is doing WITH HIS VIBRANIUM ARM which he can NOT do with his super soldier serum enhanced biological arm. (6) > Steve Rogers is about 185 years old now. He got very old and elderly and chose Sam to be his successor as the New Captain America in AVENGERS ENDGAME movie 2019. 6a)> Steve Rogers aging rapidly was also a plot also occurred in the comics/ source material in 2014 (TEN YEARS AGO) when the super soldier serum from drained from him then he chose Sam Wilson as his successor and Rogers became "Chief of SHIELDs civilian oversight committee". Thus circumstance is obviously different from the MCU but the result is the same. Steve Rogers was revitalized with his super soldier youthfulness by a sentient cosmic cube and returned to being Captain America ....but decided to share the mantle with Sam Wilson as BOTH being Captains America (like Peter Parker + Miles Morales both being Spiderman amongst many other examples (as detailed in point (2)) 6b) > Steve Rogers was about 90years old when he defrosted from the ice at the end of Captain America : First Avenger movie which brought him into the modern era in 2011 then when you add Steve's modern era time in Captain America 2+3 and Avengers 1,2,3 + 4 (9 years, 2011-2019) AND when Steve time travelled back to the mid-1940s to return to his lover PEGGY CARTER then lived through 1940s to 2019 (additional 70s years at least) AND Steve's age (about mid-20s) in Captain America 1 before he got stuck in suspended animation in the ice. This is because Steve went through about 73 years 1946 to 2019 TWICE = 146 years ADD His years in modern era (2011-2019)= 9 years ADD His initial age before he got stuck in ice in mid-1940s= mid-20s perhaps 25 years old (estimate) ADD 5 year time jump: This occurred between Infinity War and Endgame. No interest whatsoever. You cannot make a side kick character into a popular lead just by throwing money at the film. People forget that prior to the film Iron Man was NOT a popular Marvel character. Marvel had sold the right to their most popular characters, the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spiderman and Hulk to other studios. So, they took what could arguably called a B-List character and a final budget of $186 million to make a glorified "toy commercial." But Jon Fabreau and Robert Downey, Jr. produced a movie which was lightning in a bottle. And on the strength of that one film Marvel was able to produce a decade of mostly good films. But since Endgame they've been struggling to produce anything of value. The desperation of Marvel to try and reproduce their original success spoils everything they do. They'd be far better off to take a break and stop throwing good money after bad. When you are re-shooting whole sections of your film and eliminating entire villains and adding new ones just months before the release date then that should be a clue that your script was crap. Maybe write a GOOD script before announcing a release date for the film.

@@stevenedwards8353 I agree. Iron Man has a great story. It's a classic redemption arc portrayed by a charismatic actor. Disney doesn't seem to understand why Iron Man was a success. If you start with a compelling narrative which peaks people's interest and add competent actors who are capable of portraying interesting and likeable characters then you have a chance. These morons are still re-writing the script and casting new characters a year after the movie was supposed to be released. That's not a recipe for success. And if YOU and I know this to be true then how much in denial must the producers of this movie be?

I don't think Falcon becoming Cap is really a serious problem people have with the movie (If it was then, I wonder where that crowd was in 2019 when Steve gave Sam the Shield in the first place....) but even if it was those people are fundamentally missing the forest for the trees. Suppose Steve is still the main character or Bucky is in Captain America 4. In that case, it shouldn't make you any more confident in a project with as many reshoots as this one or poor early screening among the other stories that have come out.

I think they've fallen prey to the Sunk Cost Fallacy. Throwing good money after bad. I'm sure there's an audience for this, but I'm not among them. There's no upside to this movie. Captain America isn't just a shield, it's the personality and ideals of Steve Rogers. Red Hulk won't be set up properly, so it's just a gimmick. Harrison Ford is not suited to this genre. Neither was Robert Redford, but nobody had to glue ping pong balls to him. Anthony Mackie is a great natural actor and I enjoyed the hell out of an exceedingly stupid TV show because of him(Twisted Metal, not the crappy Black Falcon one), but he's not a good Cap, and most won't be able to get past his stupid speech to the Senator defending a by-every-definition-a-terrorist-organization as just a misunderstood group of goofy kids. The reshoots SHOUT that there's no cohesive vision and Marvel movies need to take a break. I'll be watching Mickey 17 I think.

I have no interest in seeing this movie. Anthony Mackie was fine as Falcon, but he is not Captain America. He lacks the serum that made the Steve Rogers character, so he cannot be this character physically. The character Mackie now plays is simply different. Though I can understand the motives for Marvel doing this, I still find the result uninteresting. I will not be buying a ticket.

The last time an MCU movie got reshot at the eleventh hour, to my knowledge, was Quantumania. The massive difference between that movie and Brave New World is that Quantumania had potential. It could have been a really strong movie and set up Kang as a legitimate threat. Brave New World is a mess and had no chance of succeeding.

(2) > New Captain does NOT NEED THE SERUM... 2a) > Because he does NOT need super-strength to make him a good fighter and/or tactical combat. This is dependent on skill and training especially when he also has the strongest materials on earth (VIBRANIUM and possibly Adamantium) in his combat arsenal. This is sufficient to battle against superior strength opponents. 2b)> All the feats of strength or durability New Captain America has done came AFTER he got the VIBRANIUM upgrades towards the end of FaTW/ Falcon and the Winter Soldier tv series (2019) meaning it is the vibranium doing the work of strength and durability. New Captain America is simply making application of those tools. Here is a hint, look at the strength feats Bucky/ Winter Soldier did in FATW tv series and the recent THUNDERBOLTS special look trailer. He uses his VIBRANIUM ARM to do those feats yet he also has super-serum so ask yourself why he never uses his natural super soldier serum/sss arm. And guess what? Bucky's Vibranium arm is performing far much stronger feats than his biological sss arm. There is NO serum inside the vibranium arm and yet see what Bucky is doing with it.... It is basically application of tools into action just like what New Captain America is doing. Bucky may have the serum, can run faster and physically stronger due to the serum BUT THE VIBRANIUM DOES NOT NEED SERUM TO WORK. 2c) > It is actually a cool idea that New Captain America does NOT take the serum because of the following: i) = It teaches that skill and talent when applied well with the right tools can pay off even against greater odds. A good work ethic. ii) = It also shows that just because you are not enhanced on steroids or don't have superpowers does NOT mean that you can not be a superhero or do good especially when the superhero name has a COUNTRY in the name.... Captain AMERICA. iii) = It also teaches that ANY AMERICAN with the heart for a better America and a better safer world can be worthy of Captain America. That is why the superhero name is "Captain AMERICA" NOT Captain White American or Captain Arab American or Captain Catholic American or Captain Buddhist American, etc. iv) = Sam's wings hint at the American Eagle on the American Coat of Arms which is genius and very fitting for anyone labelled "Captain America". Steve Rogers initially hard 'wings' on his helmet to symbolize the American Eagle but ACTUALLY having wings to fly like the eagle is more fitting in my opinion. v)= If Sam took the super soldier serum, he would become a cheap copy n paste of Steve Rogers like the terrible one in FATW who chosen by the gov't then unchosen. That dude thought just having a flag on his chest + a shield + + serum automatically makes him worthy yet he did NOT have the morality that Steve saw in Sam which he why Steve chose same as his successor. If Sam took the serum it would severely diminish his individuality and uniqueness he brings to the mantle and legacy of captain america. This would be EXACTLY the complaint y'all would be ranting about if Sam took the serum. All this is NOT knocking on the brilliance of Steve Rogers but rather exalting the morals and beliefs he stands for. He was willing to sacrifice himself to save others BEFORE he got enhanced and he was told that he could die if the experiment failed but that did NOT phase him because he believed he was doing it for the betterment of humanity (3) > Lastly, our smart self professed science nerd himself Spiderman said the VIBRANIUM shield "does NOT obey the laws of physics" in Captain America 3: Civil War. That line was not placed there by mistake. It is an outta-jail-free-card to say you do NOT need super-strength to be able to use the shield. Besides, we have seen several NORMAL PEOPLE WITH NO SUPERPOWERS carrying around the shield easily because the vibranium shield VERY light-weight despite its grandiose durability and it's bouncy freesbie-like properties. I bet a normal human freesbie champion can also use the shield very well (4) > New Captain VS Rulk is directly inspired from the several themes of Man vs Monster in several myths and legends which gave birth to the "underdog" when the hero is stacked against superior odds but still finds some cool way with the aid of a handy POWERFUL tool or clever trick to achieve victory so i am eagerly fascinated looking forward to see how New Captain VS Rulk will be resolved. Either way, i am hyped for that fight and for the movie in general. See y'all next month when Captain America: Brave New World his cinemas. Lets hope Marvel nails it right [fingers crossed].👍
