I've been watching through Deep Space 9 for the very first time. I'm on Season 5. I remember when Titanic first came out in 1997 and the press was buzzing about the $200 million price tag for that movie. Much ink was spilled wondering how James Cameron managed to justify that much money being spent on what was essentially a period piece romance, and whether his career would survive the inevitable flop. Of course Titanic was a huge success and now such bloated budgets are commonplace.

Movies cost so much also due to incompetence. A film like Titanic had to be tight in everything it did, massive pre-planning upon pre-planning, making sure everything was perfect. Now studios like Disney don't do any of that, realise they have made a shit film at pre-screenings and call for re-shoots. These are not well-done like Titanic, but cost purely because of bad management. They just throw money at productions hoping for a return.

The rumors inside Disney are beyond the warning stages at this point. Supposedly, you have two warring factions in the company. "Burn to the ground" implies it won't exist at some point. It will. Their goal seems to be to remain the hollowed out husk we've known Disney to be for the last decade. Kids today? This is their Disney. Same old parks and a brave new world of propaganda movies. Just make it colorful enough and normies will continue to consume it and hail the latest one to be "one of the best films of the year". Rinse and repeat. All we can do (as the generations of the "before" times) is to show the next generation how great things were and how great things can be.

Disney had an awful lot of, shall we say, "social credit". They were a big part of a lot of people's childhoods; people carried rosy memories and goodwill with their name, whether it came from watching a VHS of "Cinderella" or "The Little Mermaid" for the hundredth time, or walking down Main Street in one of the parks during a school break vacation. In Marvel and Star Wars, they managed to acquire even more of that credit. But the speed with which they frittered that credit away is nothing short of incredible.

Son thinks Indy is a square. Son runs off to China after falling for a foriegn exchange student girl. She's turns out to be the daughter of a Chinese general who thinks he's the reincarnation of the First Emperor, rightful ruler of China. As Valiant Renegade has proven, Disney LIES on its production budgets. He's gotten the receipts because in order to get tax rebates from the UK Disney has to file the real budgets. So now we know that The Farce Awakens cost 650 mln to make, The Last Jedi 440 mln and Rise of Palpatine 550 mln. Which means Solo wasn't the only SW movie to lose money. We can only guess as to what the real budgets for Marvel movies are. I highly doubt that ANY of them in Phase 4 made any money.

They didn't care about customer opinion when their ESG score buoyed them up with investor cash. Because they agreed with the investors. What I want to see is the people who gave Blackrock, Vanguard and Fidelity all their 401K money to fuel this, suing those companies and the officers for financial malfeasance.

Every movie that fails, puts a smile on my face. I watched “The LIttle Mermaid” the 1989 animation and I have a renewed appreciation. I got the 2 disc special edition. The second disc goes into the hard work the people involved put into it. It really is a good entertainment to watch but I think the animation movies that Disney produced following that like “Aladdin”, “Lion King”, and “Beauty and the Beast” served as the last reminder of what it was like to dream and forget who you are and follow these characters into their hopes and dreams. Disney has lost sight of that and re-creating these master pieces into live action films was a mistake. The truth is, Disney should never have left animation, they should’ve continued with who they are as a children’s production for cartoons, animation movies and musicals. When I look at the new Little Mermaid I see a lost opportunity. That film should’ve made over a billion dollars. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have picked up some danish red head girl from Ireland who could sing and put her in the film ??? It seems like a no brainer but making live action films based on the animation was a stupid mistake to begin with. As far as Indiana Jones. I think Harrison Ford should just give it up. I never watched the film. So yeah. Tron Legacy should have a sequel. I don’t care how old the actors are now. Pay them a lot of money and get them back and continue the story. I’m not that big on Jared Leto, he’s made some good movies in the past but him in Tron and no explanation on the other characters makes me scratch my head. Never watched Secret Invasion, kind of kinda it would be trash.

It made like, 500 million dollars in theaters in 89’ and remained in theaters for almost a year before going to vhs and dvd, so it must have impressed a lot of people. But I’ll check into the Japanese version. They make good animation and movies. @@tomigun5180

Hollywood studios and actors don't want to learn from their failures and mistakes. They are too focus on their political agenda to care and their esg scores. Their motto is: If you don't like it, you are racist. If you like it, then you are with them. No middle ground for the vocal 1% minority. Thanks for your honesty and willingness to talk about it. We, the other 99% need a voice and say in our entertainment views. Keep it up.

They don’t care because it’s not about money anymore, heck money won’t be a thing for much longer, at least as we know it. Now it’s about scoring points with the hidden masters, the puppeteers of the message, the message is what counts, and they believe, rightly or wrongly, that people are falling for it. They need to destroy our old culture to make way for theirs, you think they couldn’t make an amazing Star Wars or Indiana jones movie? It’s about destroying our legend our modern mythology, how we see ourselves, they must destroy our hero’s. They are evil, and it won’t end well.

They won't learn, they will never learn, because the writers and producers see their movies and the current day messaging as a political issue and consider everyone not liking their movies as part of "the other side" (they see everyone else who is not 100% on their side as: Not an ally = an enemy). While we (the fans of those francises) mostly don't care in the slightest about that messaging and simply don't want our beloved francises be run to the ground with awful stories and our childhood heroes being deconstructed and/or replaced by unlikeable marry sues and girlbosses.

We don't need a 3rd Tron. The ending left it open for imagination. Not everything has to be documented. It's okay to let the audience fill in the gaps. It makes for great conversations. Instead, Hollywood wants to tell you how to think. No thanks.

They never listen. It's always the same across all franchises. Fans are the canary in the coalmine, if they tell you things are going in the wrong direction smart execs would listen. But they never do. They double down, dismiss the same people who were praising them just recently as "haters" and then act all shocked when eventually the wider public wake up, see the exact same things the fans warned them of, and bugger off. It's a tale as old as time...
