Hi Dave, only came across your channel recently and subbed. Really enjoying the fly tying and the stories that go with the flies. I first fished Loch Leven in 79 at 14 yrs old and blanked on my first 6 visits too. I was lucky to fish with experienced locals, and I enjoyed some great sport, also learning the `dipstick` to find drop offs, and witnessing the biggest rise of fish I have ever seen, between castle island and the north deeps. Its changed days, but as you say Loch Leven never was an easy place to catch fish, yet can still produce for the dedicated. For the inexperienced Id recommend a guide like yourself or the boatman service at the loch, as its a big place and the fish follow the food. That`s worth more than any ££££ rod, in my opinion. Thanks for watching dpeends on what you are ordering, atm flies are max 4 weeks instead of ten and marabou is about 2 weeks as im being wiped out :)
