When they do "Gun" live a lot of the times the differences between how slow they start and how fast they get is even greater. Great live song!

To me the core of this song always sounded like a freight train slowly speeding up while leaving a station. Such a heavy groove.

Just thinking about their body of work from their early stuff like this to their last album, blows my mind they aren’t in the rock and roll hall of fame.

Now wasn't that a cool little song? I completely enjoyed this review. Now that speed up, that is extremely hard to do right and have everyone stay in time together, speaking from experience. All the credit to the band for doing that. Then there's the chance to hear his vocals, always have time to listen to that. Good score for this song.

I get a little upset when metalheads frame grunge as an adversary of metal. Soundgarden, Melvins and Alice In Chains WERE metal. Nirvana, Tad, Skin Yard, Gruntruck and yes...even Pearl Jam, had their metal moments as well. This was an important period for me as a kid.

Oh, yeahhh! Gun always took me on a ride, like an accelerating train: Shoot shoot shoot till their minds are open/ Shoot shoot shoot till their eyes are closed!/ Push push push till we get some motion/ Push push push till the bombs explode! It was quite entertaining watching your desperation, lol, thanks for the awesome review! Cheers from Brazil! 🇧🇷

First time I heard Soundgarden in 89 was this album, and the first thing that struck me was Matt's drumming. I become a huge Matt Cameron fan instantly. Back when hair bands were popular, this really blew my mind and they've been my favorite since. They were breaking the usual rules.

OMG! I usually don't pay attention to scores. Must be one of the highest for any band ever since I've been following. The abrupt, almost back to a 1/4-time end was a great call. One of the things I love most about your song reactions is finding the beat and learning to count. Seems like once bands master that skill a whole world of possibilities is opened.

I’m hearing a Black Sabbath and Trouble vibe. I like the downtuned doomy riff that’s sabbathesque, but it sounds like it’s occasionally played high up on the neck like Trouble was known to do, sometimes.

Amazing song and hardly any bands ever do the incremental speed up. Chris still sounds amazing and due to the topic and the build up it’s seriously just like the person in the lyrics, the persons emotions are getting more and more anxious. To be honest it sounds like the Melvins with Chris Cornell. Lol
