I can't say anything bad about these kids or the foundation. To take kids and teach them complex music and they do it well, better than some adults, is impressive beyond words. Props to the kids, teachers. Instructors, everyone involved. I'd be so much farther along in music had I been involved in a foundation like this.

I've been watching this video about every other week or so for a while. The kids are amazing. The kid on the sticks playes drums on No More Tears and drops a drum stick without missing a beat. The drummer is the one that wanted O"Keefe to do the song. The singer is in some rocking music videos and I've heard she at one time had her own band.

They definitely should've given these kids their due by mentioning their names in the credits. I noticed that this kid going beastmode on the drums uses Sabian cymbals and Pau from The Warning also uses Sabian, so I guess there's something about that brand that makes awesome drummers beat the crap out of them lol! Idk if I like this version more than the original but the piano was definitely a great addition to the song, very well done cover by all of them.

I agree with the whole thing about if these kids want to be musicians they have to be able to take criticism, but this is also roughly a 10 year old girl singing vocal parts of an adult male so I think she killed it. It reminds me of the who's Tommy movie. It was all sang by other artists with different genders and vocal ranges all being sang based off of.what Roger Daltrey had already performed. They had to make it work, though. She killed it. They all killed it. BTW. I usually hate to hear kids sing.

I didn't think I'd end up watching this in full, but that was fun. Pointing out things like the flat note is good, because it's something that can be improved, and it's not like it's a personal attack. Too much hand-waving means that inaccuracy essentially becomes the standard. I really like what she did, though, like with the flips and her overall tone. Combined with the rest of the song melodically, I was getting shades of Uninvited from Alanis Morissette. And yeah, the piano was a nice addition, and I love the breakdown with just that and the bass.
@merlinnuffsaid50542 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more. This was better than Tool's version of Tool's song, lol. I wonder if we were to switch roles for a bit and have Maynard sing with this band, I wonder how it would sound then and back then with those exact kids. They are Already concert worthy!!🤯🤯🤯 Check out the Little girl and the musicians that cover Blood Letting.

Hey, you're so right. Constructive criticism is warranted. That's what the kids would want. They are fantastic for their ages. Check out their version of Crazy Horse by Black Label Society. Kala Rose is the singer and she's 11 in this video, I think. In the other video she's 18. Quite a change.

A great cover! I always think I might like this version more, then I switch over to the original. Nah, not as good but still great! I do think the sound is fuller at the end, but the ending of the original, Adam's guitar just f-ing growls, along with Justin's thunderous tone. I don't get that from this ending.

Great react. I always thought that this version was better than the original. That kind of treatment, of being held accountable and being treated as a professional was not the main factor, but it definitely contributed to the success of the girls of Babymetal.🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻 On another note, the singer is called Kala Rose. I've seen some recent videos of her and she's still nails it!

I love the original, but something about this arrangement is even better. I think all of these kids have aged out of the program by now, this one is pretty old. Curtis Moss has his own channel where he does drum covers with the same fire seen here. Kala Rose sang on an OMF cover of Crazy Horse that you would probably like. It's a startling performance to see how she's grown as a singer and performer.

Would I ridicule Maynard...not at all, especially if he were 11 years old...I don't expect the level of professionalism that Maynard's years of experience has brought from an 11 year old who is just starting...for someone who has had little experience, I feel in comparison to her peers, she is on top of her game, very talented, and has amazing potential to grow...The real question is, How good was Maynard at 11...that's the proper comparison.

Vocalist reminds of Lacy Sturm...So, this is like, uh, "School of Rock", right! The O'Keefe Music Foundation is doing a good thing! At nine mins in, I'll guess we're headed for about 7.2...'cause it seems to me there's a certain something missing..."groove", perhaps...they're, "hard on the clock". I'm not familiar with Tool--do they swing the rhythm at all?...............drum roll........eight.five, eh? hmm...extra voices, ok; vocalist was flat once, ok, though not a check in the plus column; falsetto thin and weak, but sweetness, ok; bassist and drummer stole the show, ok, though guitarist's staccato wasn't staccato enough; last minute of song was really thick powerful intense aggressive--better than Tool! That was your review, Dave, which, for once, I found unpersuasive. Bound to happen, I'm sure! Good show, Dave!

Wait! what! treat kids like professional musicians... you don't think every child should get a trophy? I get frustrated when I try to teach my 6yr old about having to put in effort to succeed and he regurgitates the stuff they teach him in school... how its ok to make mistakes, everyone does it their own way... when they don't yet understand the realities of life. And the music industry is brutal. They'll cut a kids contract as fast as any adult.

It's not cruel and I'm sick of that view. It's time to call that dishonest bs out at every turn. It's short term mean to be long term kind as opposed to "it's hard being honest so I'll just set you up for a more massive reality check later". That's what's cruel but it's dishonest and cowardly to boot. I mean you're actually lying in order to be cruel by proxy.
