Alter Bridge - Cry Of Achilles REACTION & REVIEW! FIRST TIME HEARING!

Alter Bridge is a very overlooked band, with a very unique band setup with two lead guitarists and in many songs two vocalists. Myles is potentially one of the best rock vocalists out there right now and Mark Tremonti up there with some of the best current rock guitarists with his unique style and catchy guitar licks. They often swap roles during the song, as seen in this with Myles playing the acoustic piece and the first solo and Mark playing the second solo. This is also seen in Blackbird, where Myles plays the first half of the solo and Mark plays the second half, that song also won best Guitar solo in modern rock due to the way it portrays emotion and the build up. They are an AMAZING band and my favourite. Saw them live in Birmingham UK December 2019, and they sound the exact same live as they do on the album, which is rare for most bands these days

That Album: Fortress... It's a masterpiece 🤤 Two opening songs, Addicted To Pain is an awesome opening song too... Metal, rock and balads all over the place, and an epic ending with the sickest cooperative guitar solo that I've ever heard... Oh man I have requested this song to many reactors now, but you my friend have gone to the top as my favourite one thank you so much, I knew you would love it, but when you break everything down the way do, as a musician it makes such a difference, and makes for a far more interesting and enlightening listening experience. If you are getting to "Fortress" this week too I am sure you enjoy just as much like I do, In fact for me the more times you listen to "Fortress" the better it gets!

You can always tell the difference between Miles and Mark solos. Miles is very rhythmical and bluesy, whereas Mark just shreds 😂.

I know I should be commenting about the band (they're my favourite band, btw), but don't think that I didn't miss that "I have spoken" when you were giving your review at the end. Awesome review as well. You're very thorough and I dig that. Oh, and of course, I recommend Calm the Fire or Waters Rising by them. And if you really like Myles' voice, check out his stuff with Slash. His vocals use a different style, imo. (As you would expect) Or if you're into jazz-ish, he has two jazz albums from one of his first bands called Citizen Swing. You'll only find it on KZbin.

Actually, I'm hearing that the intro is in 4/4, but they are playing triplets for every beat. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how it feels. Then into straight 4/4. Amazing song!

The second guitar in the song is played by Mark Tremonti who just came out with his 5th album with his band he fronts. Please consider doing a reaction to his title track Marching in Time, very uplifting song written by the a writer for Creed and Alter Bridge and Tremonti. A prolific song writer who would rather be known as a great song writer over a great guitar player.

You should check out the band Tremonti. It’s the lead guitarist and backing vocals band(Mark Tremonti) They are a little more speed metal driven. For a starting song I guess you should do the first one that he released! “You Waste Your Time”
