Wilt literally won an MVP every season playing for the 76ers, snapped Russell’s championship streak with a sweep, won a championship and set a record for most wins (then 68-14), and led the league in assists at center. He may only have played for the 76ers for 3 years, but he had more success for the 76ers in those three years than any other player in franchise history.

As a Raptor fan and Canadian, I think most Raptor fans would say Kyle Lowry. The respect he has within the city is insane, he did so much for basketball in Canada and was a huge influence within the community in Toronto. As for #2, I will say that Vince rightfully gets clout for putting Toronto on the map, but objectively I think DeRozan was a better and more impactful player in terms of the team’s success

@@FuruHataNinzaburo-w8z2019 carries Lowry past Bosh, Carter and Derozan (Demar and Kyle have basically equal playoff success except for 2019) in terms of playoff success. Kawhi could have been the greatest Raptor but he only played for one year which it’s pretty hard to be a franchise G.O.A.T when you only played for like 80 games including the playoffs. Imo it’s 1. People always talk about the '98 pacers and the bulls series but he took peak Shaq and a 67 win lakers team to 6 games with Shaq averaging those type of numbers in the series. It's unfortunate he never won a championship but he had the longevity and the success that no other pacer player had

Yeah, Bill over Larry is insanity. Even Bill would put Larry over himself. For 10 years everyone supported one of two teams, and Larry was the reason for that. He carried those teams, in 87 he nearly overcame peak Showtime on his own, with his supporting cast all injured, with bone spurs in both feet and a fucked up back. Larry was a monster, and the easiest man to build around and win a ring in NBA history. He tool a 23 win Celtics to 62 wins in his rookie season with no other major changes. It's not even close...

@xsjado_anon Жыл бұрын
@Kalinbuggs I respect Bill, but winning with 9 teams is much easier than winning now, yeah all the teams were stacked, but like most sports back then, the difference between the top and the rest was massive - it's why they spent decades introducing draft rules to even the playing field a bit. Keeping together a team for 11 wins in a row would be impossible now, you couldn't afford to keep that core together without having a bunch of Pippens taking crazy low contracts to keep the costs down, and the league is designed to be that way. Bill is a legend, 3 MVPs in a row, 11 rings - it will never be matched - but Larry is way above him in both ability and influence, I cant think of anyone in NBA history I'd pick above Larry to build around if I was looking to win a chip ASAP - Jordan might be a better choice for eventually getting a whole bunch of em, but if you just want a year 1 leader to take you to the promised land as soon as possible, he's the man.

Ok. I don't think Lowry should be a hall of famer but he has a better resume than other hall of famers. The thing that's frustrating is that Lowry is underrated for the fact that people forget how good he is on defense. He has little to no injuries and was tough as nails despite getting beat up. In todays NBA AI would be way higher all time as he could shoot 3's as much as he wanted to. without bill Russell nobody would think its a close match of "greatest NBA franchise ever" between Lakers and Celtics.

Nah, Ewing was a borderline top 5 player in the league at his peak, and consistently borderline top 10 a majority of his career. Ewing averaged 29/11/4 blocks on 56% shooting one season. That's an MVP stat line even in 2023. Frazier wasn't anywhere close to that at any point.

The criterion was kind of funny to think about. The whole argument for Giannis over Kareem was that he's homegrown, spent more time, and that Kareem is more associated with the Lakers. Then for Shaq v. Howard, how would that even be a debate? Howard spent more time, and Shaq is associated with the Lakers a lot more than the Magic. Is there something I'm missing or is that just inconsistency.

Naw, you ain't really miss anything. it's just typical debate shit, use this argument to make your point forget about it when it goes against you

As a 76ers fan Allen Iverson is definitely the best player of that team and Dr.J Moses Malone are better than Embiid I really like watching you guys podcast too!
