At the time of independence Tamilnadu ( current boundary) and Bihar had more or less the same population. But now Bihar has 1.5 times bigger population than Tamilnadu. Dilimitation is in principle done for the purpose of rearranging MP and MLA seats, say 1 MLA seat per 4 lakhs population and 1 MP seat per 6 MLA seats. That means the bimaru states which has exploded with population will get more MP seats for not containing the population and the Southern states lesser seats for containing population. That means more underperforming MPs to the Parliament. Unless population as a criteria for a MP seat is removed delimitation will be opposed by the southern states. It is in fact high time MP seats for poor governance states reduced and good governance states increased so that the elected MPs are better in quality. Delimitation just place quantity over quality.

They have taken all jobs and now Punjabis are becoming unemployed. They don't even have any manners. All they do is eat pan and ruin the streets. Nowadays they have a lot of population so they have votes and therefore they even get support from politicians in some areas. They are many times involved in criminal activites and harass girls. They also harass local punjabis people who work in small jobs. A news came yesterday that at some place there were 9-10 people who were selling vegetables. 1 of them was punjabi and rest were bhaiyas from UP/Bihar. Punjabi guy was charging less price for vegetables while up/bihari were charging high which was wrong. But instead they started to tell punjabi guy to charge high like them but when he refused, they started beating him. They literally cracked open his head.

We told them to not impose hindi on us and make Punjabi official language of Punjab but in return we got oppressed and they took haryana and himachal from us. We asked for our rights on water, rights for farmers but in return we got fake encounters. We realised that delhi is going to engulfe power from all states. We were the first ones to address these issues. No state raised their voice in our favour. They used army, police to do terrorism on us. Lakhs of our innocent people died. All this time, we were right and the Indian state was wrong. But we were called radicals, terrorist. But, finally these people start to realize these issues. I have seen many people asking for independence and separate country for southern states but if we ask the same, we are again pushed into corner and called terrorists, sepraratist.

Great episode once again. Some points 1. According to NHFS-5 survey, fertility rate at all India level has dropped to 2.1, which mean's population growth rate has declined significantly from its peak in 70s & 80s. 2. There is good article in The Print about why 2021 Census has not been carried out even though it's 2 years late. Essentially the Govt is saying teachers cannot be pulled out of their duties after covid as schools were affected then. But remember, same teachers can be used for election duties any time. 3. If the said delimitation done is this fashion, it will be "anti India" move & will create a mass protest from Southern states. I assume Delhi, Bengal and most parties from Maharashtra will join them. Think farmers protest but 50 times larger. 4. Some compromise has to be reached. HDI, GDP/capita etc must be considered in any delimitation formula.

As a south Indian, I am deeply concerned being under-represented in the Parliament. Forget about the new alignment, people here are already feeling that their voices are suppressed by the cow-belt North and if this new rule is implemented it would further dilute the representation which would be very bad for us. The screams of succession will be heard more often with a higher vigor going forward. Its better if the government proportionately increase the MP seats, so that no voices are suppressed.

dude when we talk about India we dont talk about individual states only. Read the constitution a little bit, you would understand that its not about individual states and their equal representation only. We are Indians as whole. When there are Lok Sabha elections we vote as Indians and not as State domiciles. Hope you would understand. Making of state governments is in itself a right given to all states to run their business as per their culture. We have a bigger responsibility of running all our states in the name of India if we really want to make big progress. Obviously some matters are left for state to decide. I remembered Atal ji's those lines "yea desh rehna chahiye." Really it is a very serious issue and we sould discussion about this without any time wasting. But what would be that solution? I think there would be a solution from my side and that is, if they devide big states like U.P.,Bihar etc in 2/3 parts and there names would be East U.P.,West U.P.,North Bihar,South Bihar and make a amendment or law in constitution that,any state not hold more than 5% of total number of Lok Sabha seats. And also make Rajya sabha more stronger.Allocate every states to represent same number of seats in Rajya Sabha. Only then we get out from the problem.

I also study in south India . Here people don’t speak Hindi and I’m more comfortable in Hindi and English . The local people will use Tamil and I’ve got little problem talking with them since in my college teaching is in English and with our friends and in hostel we use English . But the auto driver and all somehow they understand English . Using Google translator and all . Some are bad . Even in Chennai . When I go with Ola or Uber auto , none of the auto driver scolds me for using Hindi . Whenever they see north India they will say Hindi guy . Like we say south indian they are really sweet people . Here , people like to talk a lot . See what I feel is every Indian should travel every parf of the country north, west , east , south , north east . I see a lot of stuff of cultures of Europeans , uk and America when I ask my friend one thing he said that touch me alot is ‘you need to travel more ‘ then only you’ll understand their culture . In the same way , as an Indian it’s difficult to travel to foreign countries but , we should travel within India to make our mind more open
