Lovely to see an architect designed home that actually looks lived in and relaxing.

I remember watching the build of this wonderful house. It was such a shame to see the original partially burnt by fire when only half complete. I bet it took such strength to start again, but thankfully they did and went on to produce a wonderful building.

The fire is truly a heartbreaking chapter in this home's story. But I'm glad they continued forward, because their home is just incredible.

Years on from its grand design reveal the garden has really settled in and looks amazing now. The house itself still looks in great condition. If i had a spare million bucks I'd get Marc to build me a house!

So great to see Passivhaus buildings in Australia! There were only about 20 when we started our project back in 2019

In Germany a passive house is almost standard. Many people build a plus house. This house produces more energy than it consumes.

It's lovely to see how the house as settled and how established the garden is now. Grand Designs Australia followed the construction and the fire the owners mention in the episode, season 9 epidose 8. Such an amazing home!

I loved the Grand Design episode, Sarah. The fire was heartbreaking was watch, so we didn't want to talk too much about it for my video.

I love this house and the guiding principles of these wonderful people. What a warm workable house without it being gigantic.

Extraordinary building! One of my favorites that will not be forgotten. Lots of interesting concepts here, but I wonder about where "goes" the moist in such enclosed environment. That so evolved lovely couple must be from another dimension 😊

It's not my favorite palette and maybe it's a little "full" but, okay, this time it hit the mark. Great job! 👌

Is the soundproofing really working so well that even living so closed to the train line is immune to all the noise?
@SimpleDwelling Жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew, when the windows/doors were closed, you barely heard the noise. Is it completely silent? No, but it is reduced significantly that it sounds like it is off in the distance despite being right next to you.

Love it... though just on a very superficial level I wish there was less black... ie., I find the black exterior + black floors depressing.

Very valid comment, Vmurt. If this was your home, what would you replace the black with?
