That is true to a point, Jackson appreciated, Prince saw Jackson as a rival not a colleague. Prince felt he was more talented and better than Jackson. When asked to join the We Are the World project, Prince refused, he wanted no part of it. First of all he thought the song was awful and Prince does not include himself in anything he does not have complete control of, especially if it involves music. Prince showed this attitude in Purple Rain. Don't get me wrong, I love Prince and his creativity. But he was a total prick.

@@kennethbullock7563 Prck? Depended where you caught him in his roll. He could be a prck, no doubt, but he was really magnanimous as well. He didn't suffer fools gladly, though. Most of his unfavorable press was pushed by his record label to make him look bad. Prince mostly resented the press going along with MJ's self-proclaimed king of pop bs. Crazy because I just recently watched this whole show. Prince, Whitney Houston, and Michael were all in the same category and none of them won. Michael was snubbed severely that night and I even noticed him shaking his head when they called his name for nominations.

Yeah, cause he knew before it was announced that they were going to rob him. He did speak on it in an interview about his disappointment.

Whitney Houston did win. She won best pop performance and her song I Wanna Dance won against MJ for best producer.

@@I-AM-BELIEVER I never stated that she did not win at all. I said she did not win in a particular category with Michael and prince which was Album of the year.

@@kel_lee I can't even wrap my mind around the fact that neither MJ OR Prince won. Huh???? Wtf kind of crazy, upside down world was that??? Joshua Tree was so overrated. I remember watching this but I forgot. I think I blocked it out of my memory because it was so traumatic.
