The practical advice given by your amazing guests has been invaluable, and I've seen real results when I've implemented their teachings into my life. I am immensely grateful for discovering your channel, and I eagerly anticipate the day when I may have the opportunity to thank you in person as a guest on your show. I absolutely love this interview! I just realized that in the past two decades being fat, high as a kite, and naïve cost me at least $5 BILLION. I was a Power seller on eBay in 2004, and was the only person selling plus sizes on the entire platform. I did many things criminally as well, BUT I was too high to stay consistent, too depressed and couldn’t stop stuffing my face. I’ve now dropped over 120lbs and have been W33D free since April 16th this year. I’m looking forward to being a guest on this show after I hit $100M in these next 3yrs and write the book to talk about it. Awesome story by Sophia, and very inspirational indeed!

I think laziness and drifting can sometimes be mistaken for having to wait for society and times to catch up before you can find your groove. For instance my wife always wrote, her first memory was aged 4, sitting at the kitchen table and writing about the life of a two pence piece. It’s was always in her but in the 80’s/90’s she had no way of expressing that so she drifted from job to job and was deemed “lazy” ie no career motivation until the birth of the Internet. Fast forward and she is now a freelance writer and has written for hundreds of clients all over the world and loves it! I really believe some people are born before their time…

I love this all over, I've not heard of her before but she's real and a fighter/ go getter and that's awesome. I relate a lot when she says she's a little dark and struggles on the daily to be well rounded because of the dark thoughts. I just had my degree sent in the mail, felt socially too different to participate in the graduation so never even got the happy celebration photos with gown. Really into music. I also grew up with parents who argued and should have split, I was the moderator. That's fascinating, I just now learned that my focus struggle and avoidance is likely because of that? Wow! I came out of a narc relationship full of conflict and lack of focus/ avoidance doubled down. This is such a valuable episode, hope I meet you one day Steven!

It encompasses all breadths....good, bad, ugly, divine, inspired, questionable, creative, destructive...this is the human experience...none of us are immune to this vast expanse because this is our inherent DNA. For me, the ultimate challenge is being able to embody and present an unconditionalality (new word!) of love that has the capacity to be present with the full range of human expression, ie. everything from nirvana to absolute shite! But also being able to be at peace with paradox, anomalies, aggravation, etc. Geeze, this truly is a crazy journey but it's always our own unique one. Blessings to you 🙏🏼 🌿🌸🎵

I ordered from Nasty Gal and those were some of my favorite pieces I've ever had that weren't secondhand. I never fully understood how Nasty Gal (the store) and Girlboss (the brand) coincided. Hearing more about who she is and what she was thinking through all these stages of her life has made everything click. She's an absolute idol for me and I can relate to her story so deeply. Even more than an entrepreneur, I think her views of life and self image more generally are inspirational.

The “not being able to do something if told to do so” is an adhd trait actually. Every task we do or WANT to do has to give us a dopamine hit. So either something we really want to do or something that gives us a reward. Tasks we have to do that don’t give a dopamine hit usually gets half assed and rushed to do last minute. You’ll notice it a lot with school assignments. You could have a project assignment 2 weeks ago and the person will proscrastinate right up until like an hour before the deadline to rush and get it done. That rush of panic/anxiety gives the dopamine hit. I can be talking about wanting to do something and excited about it, then if someone tells me I HAVE to do it, I lose all that motivation. It’s now an obligation instead of something I originally thought was just going to be fun

@TheDiaryOfACEO.-. Thank you for the response . I have been watching your podcast since 2019 and I can't thank you enough. During lockdown I had more ample time to watch more video's of your guests that's when I started to re-evaluate my life as a whole and took drastic changes. I was born in Southern Africa whereby I learnt to bottle up everything from a very young age because there was nobody to turn to and the people who were meant to protect me went on to abuse me emotionally, psychologically and sexually. To the outside world people envied the way of life we had when actually it was hellish. I only realised the amount of abuse I went through and put up with when I moved to England especially when I started working in the health sector. Most of the abuses which I was taught to be aware of to protect vulnerable people I learnt that I have experienced them and I am not sure how I survived. As an African I was in denial of my mum and other siblings being narcissists and for my own sanity after listening to Dr Gabor Matte and Professor Jordan Peterson I cut contact with my mum and 2 sisters. I call them the 3 wicked Jezebels. You are doing a great job and your podcast has been theraupatic. Even though it has taken me a long time to take action I am now a changed woman. 🙏👌❤️

I can relate to her discovery about not trusting herself. When I discovered that for me, it was when I realised that I was different and didn't fit in in my environment and felt like I needed to conform to an identity that was more accepting... It made me feel like I didn't know who I was and I really didn't. I could talk myself into thinking, feeling, believing and doing anything. When I started to heal that, I had to rediscover what my authentic voice was and then "decide" what identity I wanted to created for myself. Still doing that. Love this interview!

This episode hit home really well. Thank you so much to you both. Sophia's rise to glory is so relatable to me as ive also had similar life evolutions of darkness into adulthood and the eventual aims to create a success business. All the while I'm wondering, "can I really do this with my history?" Sophia is proof that it's possible for sure.

As an only (adopted) female child in an unhappy home with parents who were critical and the deafening silence. It shapes you to have a mentality of an entrepreneur and be curious and want better. I don't know what homesick means and Im glad.

I totally get where she is coming from, I used to look around and be so surprised no one is questioning why we are living in this construct. This is someone’s idea of life that other people are just blindly following as if this is what life is. They train us to be zombies in public school, to have a fear of stepping out line.

I knew nothing about you and your journey until I watched this interview today. THANK YOU to this channel, and to you for opening my eyes and heart and mind in so many beneficial ways. I have a bunch of takeaways and the most significant is some insight into WHY I am this way, and followed logically by what can I DO with this knowledge. ❤

I think we’re on a slippery slope if we’re unhappy with the success of people that made poor choices as young people. We’ve all made dumb choices. At least she’s transparent about it. Think of these succession men in the highest ranks of society that have silently done far worse than shopping lifting at like 20.

It makes sense that she has ADHD based on how she describes herself growing up and her personality. I live with 2 ADHD superheroes, and they are sooooo intelligent, they are also extremely rebellious and can be impulsive. They are extremely creative, and they will question everything you say and do. They just think differently. They just amaze me, honestly.

Awesome interview..... Kudos to Sophia for breaking the mold and rising way above the rest. Just because we do not follow the prescribed route and do it our own way doesn't mean we are wrong. I guess it depends which side of the coin you're standing on. The most important lesson from failure is to try again, and never give up. Well done!

She was always curious and just different from the rest. Self-made heroine, so much substance. She is really awkward and yet radical, cool cool chick! I think its the misfit-ness in her growing years that created her success story today... Its almost accidental but she did it! Cleverly, calculatedly, probably hired the rite 'tribe' and that made all the difference. Love this interview...i enjoy all your stuff!

I got sick listening to her talk about stealing, I had a very small boutique in NYC & people like her are so common. It doesn't matter if you steal from target or a mom/pop store. You are a thief and it's morally wrong h criminal. Target's owners are the working people who have that stock in their 401k. No crime is victimless. Having said that, I am glad she turned her life around, that is a Good thing. Statistically that is rare.

Agreed. She did say she was remorseful about it because she was young and immature. But when someone steals, someone else ends up paying for it. I hate when people try to justify through mental gymnastics.

She created an empire off of stealing and using the so called bad boyfriends. She lived with all these dudes don’t forget that, these were her words but they were just drunk fry cooks.
