Great video! Like the new approach from the intro all the way through. Just received my copy of this the other day and can’t wait to play it. Jedi was my favorite movie as a kid so looking forward to some nostalgic feels while playing one of the most approachable classic fun games of all time. Thanks Roy!

Thanks Roy! For me, I think Infinity Gauntlet is still the best version of Love Letter as it keeps everyone active in the game the whole time. I'm not super sold on the player elimination in this one because it seems a player could conceivably not even get a first turn without getting knocked out...and it's completely based on the luck of the draw. That seems like a problem even if the turns are super quick. Maybe it wouldn't be that much of an issue, but it's just my impression from the review. Love the theme though!
@lseeley2 жыл бұрын
One thing I like to do with when players get knocked out is to include them when secretly sharing card information between players and encourage them to bounce around and see what cards people are holding.
@benjaminspears84882 жыл бұрын
@@lseeley That’s something we used to do with our kids to keep them busy, but now we seldom play games that have player elimination. It’s more fun all around if everyone keeps playing. In this one, it wouldn’t be very fun to have your turn end based on a random card flip. At least with Infinity Gauntlet there’s some fun guessing and teamwork involved.

Which is better, Jabba's Palace or Infinity Gauntlet? I have 3 versions of love letter, but wouldn't mind one of these new editions that is more different.

Good Review Roy :) Question, can the Guard and C-3P0 guess the number 1? In regular Love Letter, the Guards' card specifies "any number other than 1" but this Star Ward version doesn't. Thanks.

For me, part of the beauty of Love Letter is its simplicity. Many of these spin-offs ruin that in my view. Doesn't help that the card art/overall design looks like it was leftover from a 1990's TCG.
@RetroMaticGamer2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Standard Love Letter has an unmatched level of elegance and balance. Many of the re-themes did well in not disrupting that. This one not only over-complicates the game, but by making the high cards so powerful (as opposed to punitive and dangerous) it pretty much ruins the strategy, making it just another crappy Take-That card game.
@benjaminspears84882 жыл бұрын
Have you tried the Infinity Gauntlet version? That’s definitely our preferred version of Love Letter! With it being a cooperative one vs many game it works brilliantly.

Some of us played the Star Wars ccg in the 90s and still have their decks in the closet. I like it for the nostalgia. I get why most might not like the way it looks but I do.

Oh please no! As much as I used to love Star Wars (I was 9 in 1977), it needs to stop. Why people give Disney their money is beyond comprehension.
@Ederfb782 жыл бұрын
Just don't buy it if your not interested. Why when someone is not interested in something they feel the need to let everyone knows. Why did you even click on this video in the first place...?
@tempestfury83242 жыл бұрын
@@Ederfb78 : Because it's a comment section, and not everyone has the same views. That's the beauty of it! How boring life would be if we just agreed upon everything. Love the game if you do....but don't tell me I can't disagree.
@Ederfb782 жыл бұрын
@@tempestfury8324 I totally agree with you that is a comment section and you can comment if you want. What I don’t understand is if you’re really not interested in a Love letter Star Wars version, why did you clicked on the video in the first place? I saw a lot of videos on KZbin that do not interest me, I just don’t click on them… Why people always assume that everything should be made for them and when it’s not, they feel the need to let the world know…?
@tempestfury83242 жыл бұрын
@@Ederfb78 : Easy answer! I watch almost every episode of the Dice Tower, including games that don't necessarily interest me. I like the opinions of Tom, Zee, Roy, and Mike even if I disagree with them.

I just don't get it. These love letter games just baffle me. Is this a game? It seems nothing, but randomness.
