Despite the different card effects and the madness tokens, this is much more similar to the original game than I though it would be. Art still amazing and the theme, although it's really not there, is something that calls one's attention. Thanks for the video and keep up with the good work!

Cthulhu seems to be everywhere! What's next? Sushi Go Cthulhu Party Platter of Madnesses?

next big thing will be Trump games: British fox hunting board game, toss his rug on his head for the hounds to confuse them ! I like it how Zee reviews this just a day after my Cthulu Realms pack arrived in the mail.

I can't believe they didn't change the back of the cards
@houjuugaming71217 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could combine them???
@houjuugaming71217 жыл бұрын
(long comment ahead) According to the rules, you 1: gain madness at the END of the round, not that it matters, 2: whoever GAINED more madness, not who had more TOTAL, gets the -1Madness/+4Points option, 3: (I think, can't remember exactly) Dreamlands activates AFTER scoring (can't be used for Necronomicon) but BEFORE checking who died, 4: I don't actually know how Shub-Niggurath works, but it either doubles your previous, or IS double your previous (totaling to tripling).
@tinvahtaric86805 жыл бұрын
Think of Shub-Niggurath as a card that gives you points equal to the points gained on te previous card, so no tripling

The *Win all ties* card was pretty overpowered, so I'm glad it's gone in this one!

another great review. I can't wait to get my hands on this
@FaxFatali7 жыл бұрын
i believe you explained Shub Niggurath not correctly.. it doubles not the card played "right before" it, but any previously played card, including retained cards from a previous round. Thats why the rules states that it has no effect only if played as the first card of the _first round_.

The back card art doesnt fit a Cthulhu atmosphere. However, it does match the original games art. Makes me think there is the possibility of combining the two. The new push your luck feature is a nice way to keep everyone guessing who the winner. twitter: @gamesandbourbon

They're not Elder Gods. They're Great Old Ones and Outer Gods. Everyone makes that mistake. Sorry for being a lore-nazi. That aside, nice review. It answered all my questions.

Well considering that Lovecraft himself didn't distinguish most of those and it was writers after him, and the whole point was cosmic horror is confusing and scary, I don't think it matters that much.
@TheSquareOnes8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Lovecraft actually made it a point to play very loosely with terminology since "mapping out" the mythos and putting everything in a neat little category diminishes from atmosphere he was shooting for. These aren't just things man was not meant to know, they are things man can't even fully comprehend. Unfortunately this was one of many things lost in translation as his influence spread to other works.
