Received my KickStarted, Dirk Henn-autographed copy a few months ago and it immediately removed Acquire from my collection. Certainly, both games play differently enough to not warrant such a reaction, but to me, both are economic games and if I want to play one, it's going to be Speculation. (Though, I've yet to win a game!) The special dice are a must-have. I am not sure if they can be acquired (haha) without owning the KickStarter version, but if possible, find them immediately. Fantastic game and works as a great party game without the typical silliness of the general fare.

I'm curious about how this compares to Black Friday - as if I remember right Tom also enjoyed that one, but also seemed to have a *much* easier time that I did figuring out how the game worked - took me a few games before I really had much idea what was going on with that one.

The kickstarter versions have a six sided die and a special die for the actions.

That's what the original version is like. If you check out BGG's Game Night! on their youtube channel you can see them playing the original with the dice.

What did he mean by not able to use dice? Anyone!

He mean instead of drawing tiles out of the bag using dice. So you roll a 1 and it is +1, roll a 2 and it is -2. The issue is that half the tiles are to put the back in so is you rolled a 1 for +1. If the next person rolled a 1 (for + 1) you just broke the game since you are supposed to be using tiles and the +1 tile would be out of the bag. So he is saying you have to use the tiles out of the bad and cannot substitute dice in. Hopw I helped instead of confusing you more.

Brad Genz Thanks, just to confirm so you are saying every person would be getting a different chip (+1, -1, trade, break) in a particular round as the chip taken out by a player earlier in that round will not be put back in the bag until every one has had their turn?

That is right but one (i think three actually) of the chips when drawn means you put all previously drawn chips (including it's self) back in the bag.

I like this guy's reviews but he never explains well how to play games- 1) cards r drawn face down before the chips r taken out of the bag 2) the amount of shares depends on how many players 3) after u used ur card u have to discard it and can't use it until after 9 rounds etc.... just awful
