Great video. I no one to play these games but I have thought buying Twilight Struggle digital. But 1989 is the theme that I am more interested in.

Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last months :)

Great video but I have to disagree with your conclusion. I only have one because I don't play a lot of 2 player - much less meaty 2 player games and after looking at all three, I chose 1960 when it was in print a couple of years ago because I like the election theme more than the Cold War theme.

I own all of these and I second that TS is the supperior game. Especially the way the defcon and military tracks are interconnected, where some one in the tug of war may not be able to pull right back and timing is key is perfect. 1989 feels like a great and complex variant but i personally dislike the minigame and think that the game overall has too many crucial lucky rolls that can screw you over hard. 1960 is fun too, but its lighter and the tug of war effect can be a little tiresome, because a player can usually take away everything you accomplished the next action round. Also the card effects seem to be way more stale and boring compared to TS and 1989. Also because there is only on scoring round (the election in the end) there is close to no bluffing involved. I rate TS 9.5, 1989 a 8.5 and 1960 a 7.5.

Entertaining video, but if you say “Which is the best CDG from GMT?”, then you should also include Labyrinth. That game is set in a more recent era and the asymmetrical play between the US and the Jihadi makes it far more interesting IMO than TS. I own all of these games and played/enjoyed them all, but Labyrinth sits at the top for me.
