"General Joe" has once again prove himself as a "worthy leader", that's one of the best thing that reboot has accomplished. And it seems the "great catastrophe" has already began, with water drys out, ocean poisoning, darkness start spreading like D-Reaper once did in Tamers.

This was a fantastic episode, focusing on Joe and Gomamon with Mimi and Palmon as backup really helped imo, they’re standout characters for everything Adventure imo.

This was a great episode, very wholesome. I like the fact that instead of Tai (although he does appear at the end), we had Mimi helping out Joe this time. The dynamic these two had was hilarious, especially with Mimi imitating Joe to provoke Olegmon. Speaking of which, Olegmon once again is portrayed as an anti-villain which I like as he was a very well-received digimon from Xros Wars in my opinion. He's not evil but trying to survive along with his crew and you feel bad for them. Vikemon's evolution sequence wasn't the best but it was still very good and a step up over Zudomon. But the fight, by god the fight was so damn nice and more than makes up for Zudomon's debut battle against Mammothmon. Although the battle was brief, just as a way of displaying the sheer power Vikemon has it was excellant. I certainly hope that we do get to see Olegmon and the other digimon return eventually for the final battle. Speaking of Xros Wars, we've got Gravimon, another Death General from Xros Wars like Olegmon next week. Given that the "Who's that Digimon?" segment doesn't feature Seraphimon but is a TK-focused episode, I'm going to assume that we will get Seraphimon's aura form like we did with Ophanimon. Still, could be a good episode, here's to hoping.

Remember Sora still doesn’t have her crest so she will probably have the episode after TK. This will leave 4 episodes for Tai’s crest, the two angel megas, and the introduction & resolution of the big bad.

Even with Ghost Game's annoucment, I'm still not ruling out that they'll still try to expand on this version of Adventure; keep in mind we don't know if Ghost Game is going to do any better or worse than Adventure 2020. Not to mention I bet Toei will bank on people seeing the 02 movie and then hope for an 02 reboot series too if the movie succedes; it comes down to how Adventure 2020 ends along with if Toei decides to create another digimon series that's new.

Yeah I’ve heard some people theorizing that perhaps adventure 2020 will be back, like it’s taking a season or year off and ghost game is filling in the blank. But, no evidence that is actually happening, it’s just speculation!

Omg this evolution was so satisfying! Joe with his coat flowing was so bad ass, I feel so proud of him! The mega level felt earned and the final step in Joe's character arc. He started this series a coward and a wimp, now he's challenging megas confidently. He's become so *reliable* and mimi is also fantastic in this lol

i love Tai, but Mimi and Joe are hands down the best of the reboot crew. and Joe/Vikemon vs Olegmon was prob a top 5 battle of the entire reboot series. Fun episode.

Most likely a call back during OG, when Mimi was done fighting and want to leave the group on her own, then Joe decided to stay with her. Then in Tri chapter 2, they were once again fight together with their partner's mega form debut.

It was *really* nice watching Joe speaking in a fierce manner that I never remembered from him in the original series. It felt like the dynamic between him and zudamon had been flipped when Joe was the one encouraged way back, only now for zudamon to feel motivated upon seeing Joe.

Sora technically never got her crest location yet and taichi's might activate possibly during the final fight or right after sora. In terms of animation, it seems like every interval of ten episodes (10, 20, 30, etc.) has a sudden animation boost lol with exceptions like dondevimon, saving hikari, etc. Happy early birthday! Really looking forward to these last six weeks, and i really hope all the characters reunite soon

Oh gosh you’re right I forgot about Sora…that was so early in the crest quest. Not an attack on Sora but I hope episode 62 isn’t a Sora episode and instead just goes right into the great catastrophe climax. If 62 is Sora getting her crest after already having got her mega…I don’t know how that could feel anything less than filler :/

I really liked the mostly off-screen transformation. Sometimes quick glimpses at a transformation before the big reveal if more effective. And the actual animation of things shooting on-screen was very dynamic.

I absolutely loved this episode best of the arc for sure. Getting Mimi instead of Tai was a breath of fresh air. Yes Tai did show up at the end of the episode but I prefer that he shows up after the conflict is resolved instead of in the middle and distracting from Joe’s big moment. Also what a moment for Joe standing up to Olgemon challenging him to battle between leaders. Joe’s coat just blowing in the wind. Then the actual fight was badass every evolution from Ikkakumon to Vikemon had a moment to shine in this episode. As for the evolution sequence it honestly might be my personal favorite. I think the montage before showing all of Joe’s best moments helped make it feel deserved. Also the actual sequence with Vikemon exploding forth with power was just amazing and works so well with Joe’s determination. Honestly this episode is definitely in my top 10 maybe even top 5

1:44 It's Mimimon-SENSEI. This makes me wonder, where DID they get Blimpmon. Though I'm guessing based on the statue it's Babamon's blimp but where did she get that? Them being in a class field trip was convenient. 3:15 What even contaminated the island Olegmon and his crew were in is the real question here? I started thinking it's another omen of the Great Catastrophe like it was with the onsen drying up legit this time or something of that nature but then perhaps that means some of the human appliances that dropped contained chemicals that may have contaminated the oceans in that island. Olegmon is a warrior with honor and was only playing dirty since he has to make sure his crew doesn't starve. I mean he practically had a viking design like Vikemon. Joe really became a leader this episode not only putting himself on the line to save his group and Mimi's class, but also Olegmon and his band of pirates who were like Joe and his group of onsen buddies looking for a new land to inhabit and survive. Based on what I saw on the preview, looks like Takeru's compass leads him back to Eldoradimon who is struggling to climb up a mountain to return home. I wonder what Gravimon's part in all that would be?

Takeru will definitely get his Crest next week, which leaves--in my opinion--plenty of time for the Great Catastrophe. Kind of interesting that we're getting two Death Generals in a row like this, Olegmon was already a surprise, but now we get Gravimon next week. I'm happy to see ElDoradimon is part of the conflict too, due to Takeru's existing bond with him.

This was a great episode, nothing to complain about! I LOVED it =D Though I am still kinda disappointed that obtaining the crests barely ever has something to do with what the Crests represent (at least in the original series)... But whatever, at least Taichi was almost absent this week! And believe it or not, that DID made the episode A LOT better! It usually feels so forced when he is put into another characters Story. Glad they he was not in this episode outside of the last few seconds =)

This is how I said the reboot is better than og, because even though the story is a bit messy, at least they made the others able to learn to be independent on their own, without Tai and Matt carrying the team. That includes actually using their personalities to their full advantage and actually face their own challenge, and issues that Digimon og and 02 have failed to do

Summary: 9/10 - Nice story, world-building - Funny Olegmon "I'm shogun" and TonosamaGekomon - Animation quality in fight scenes (Vikemon vs Olegmon) was marvelous, but I prefer story > animation but have to say in begin of the episode there was some scene where the animation was really bad. - Vikemon evolution scene wasn't as good I hoped for. I will say that in old PSP Digimon Adventure game had all Mega evolution scenes and those were much better than what we get in this reboot. - I have a little problem with this episode to figure out what is the crest Joe has. It doesn't look like he has the crest of sincerity. It is more like the crest of leadership or bravely or something like that. Overall, Joe is always has been my favorite and I even strive to live sincerely

honestly the worst thing about the show is how criminally under used Sora has been this entire run. Every character gets amazing personal development and great moments to shine. Sora's best moment is probably when she meets piomon. I really hope we get a sequel series in the real world where they have to do deal with the repercussions of being gone while also having to contend with another threat. Hell, itd be amazing if they made a sequel tv movie with that premise and it focused on Sora. She can get Varodurumon as her final unlock and only variant form in the entire series.

Glad Tai didn’t come in saving the day again; I was one of those who was pretty forgiving of Tai being the center focus/main protagonist, but the last few episodes def got on my nerves a bit. This was a nice breather, especially with Mimi being Mimi, which is hilarious, and Joe really seeming to earn that Leader role here. Good episode overall, my only complaint at this point is more regarding the overarching story for the crests, I kinda wish it ended at Milleniummon, or at least incorporate the journey of the Crests into the fight with Milleniummon better. But the show’s almost done, and I’d like to judge it after watching all of the episodes back to back, so maybe my thoughts will be different after that

I agree with this, he has been in every episode and it could be someone else like this week with mimi, yes. But him being there doesn't take the spotlight away from the focus of the episode. I personally believe that the show is through his pov with a few exceptions. Also the intro has him being the most prominent character and the fact that it has not changed at all like in 1999, makes me further believe this
