Suzuki Build! Christmas Tree Hunt

What better way to get a Christmas tree for the shop than in a rig with some fresh new mods!!
The Suzuki Xl-7 gets a little lift and shocks from Ironman 4x4, and a fresh set of Falken Rubitrek AT tires. Then it’s off to the mountains with Cameron and Matt to find the perfect trees.
Will the little budget mobile be able to keep up with the FJ60 or the Super Duty work truck?

I have one for sale right now. I am in Denver CO. It was my wife's for the last 5 years. We bought it from the original owner in 2018. It has 160k. Great little suv. Funny enough they actually seat 7 even though I would never use the back seats. New winter tires, heated seats, leather. All it does is sit so if anyone is interested lemme know!

We have a Suzuki xl7. We have used it offroad. Put paddle tires on it and jump it at the dunes. And daily drove it to work 65 miles one way all winter. Amazing little rigs.

Last year I test drove a 4 door sidekick and almost bought it, but ended up going with a 2000 OBS Denali. While I love the ol GMC... that sidekick still lives rent free in my head.

My grandfather rip bought a grand vitara back in the early 2000's I didn't like it at first and thought the dealer took advantage of him but after driving him to town a few times in bad snow I was thoroughly impressed all around we pulled out his neighbor in his new full size dodge when he slid in the ditch and that lil truck didn't sweat it.

We had the same XL7 , it was my sisters brand new and then my Dads Fishing Vehicle, I always loved “ Dadzuki” never got to seriously off-road it but did put 7 people in it and ripped it through the Baja as we call it in Howard Beach Queens! And did over a hundred, I wish I didn’t sell it to Russian Gangsters from Brooklyn, it was a great vehicle and the little V6 was awesome! Always wanted to lift it

My dad passed in June 2020 so one day I would love to build a "DADZUKI" tribute, ours ended up getting shipped to Russia, but never stopped regretting getting rid of her! She was pearl white, really treated us well, great job brother 👏 looks and works so much better than the low as hell stance and car tires they come with! Long live DADZUKI!

I’m a little behind on my DVR (RIP Dirt Every Day) and just watched “tiny tires vs big rocks”. Super fun episode. That front dif sure is a weak spot. I have a 2000 tracker 4 door with 2” lift. Wish someone made a fabricated housing like the old Calmini “anvil” front dif. These are great rigs! If it wasn’t for the dif a zuk on 27’s did amazing on a gnarly trail. Thanks for continuing to make content.

I had a normal Grand Vitara of this age, was surprisingly good off road with a lift and tyres. If it's a petrol, though, it might have the aluminium cased front diff. SWAP IT FOR A STEEL ONE FROM A DIESEL. 😅 Blew mine clean in half

Dave, great job on the Suzuki. I was waiting for you and Fred to do one together and I actually messaged Fred but didn’t get a response. I just bought calmini’s full suspension system which includes new lower control arms for a 2 1/2 inch lift so I can put 33s underneath it without body trim. I’m excited to see you build it out, so I’m looking forward to more episodes.

I have an 03 Tracker 4 door, and out of all the rigs I've wheeled it is by far the most fun, not the most capable, but nothing beats the looks on the faces of people that have never seen one wheel before. I'd own a fleet of them if I could, love these rigs!

Clark Griswold would be proud of you Dave. I just put a set of BFG KO2's on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I found a set of factory Jeep aluminum rims for them painted them black and matte bronze and they make the Jeep look pretty good IMO. I went out wheeling in some snow that we got yesterday and they seem to do a good job.

Great video Dave, I sold these back in the day, they are very capable rigs, does the size, built rugged, reliable, decent ride/ handling great heaters and will start easily in -35 weather far better than most vehicles ,I sold tons of these back in the 90's and seen many with 250k kilometres on the clock, I really found the 4dr model long wheel base really improved the ride over the 2dr model, where I live in Manitoba I have sorry if been on the lookout for one, almost impossible to find here, 👍

I've got an 03 zr2 tracker with 245/75r16's. If we take the dogs with us it rubs lol. No lift... I intended for 235/75r15s but the bigger tires were cheap blizzaks for the winter. For highway commuting it's fine. For bumpy roads loaded its rub city
