I have a 3x 2008 BMW which I bought used 2 1/2 yrs ago….i have spent the first 2 winters constantly replacing the battery …3 new ones, 2 water pumps and a new alternator and an actuator all within a year and a half….I am sick of this battery drain, not to mention the expense, and have not a clue as to why? I am a single woman who lives in Montana and the moment we hit 25 degrees or below I am stranded all winter!! Please give me some sold advice?! Thank you!!…….and did I mention we had a cold spell last week and even after an over night charge the battery light is still going on and off

Hi, if you don't code and register your battery then it will deplete fast as the alternator does not know how much to charge it, it assumes the battery is old when it is new. I would suggest checking cold cranking amps on the battery as 25 F is like -4C . Is your IBS plugged in ? Great video! taking my car to the garage this evening, I've had the battery changed and also the alternator changed. battery was more than 5 years old and it turned out the alternator was dying. that was 3 weeks ago, yesterday and today I get a warning saying "high rate of battery discharge". we have had hot weather over the last few days so I have had the AC on, the car stalled twice in two days, whilst reversing off the driveway at low speed, never had that in the 5 years I have had the car. 2008 E60 525i SE, 198000 miles and no major issues. I had the entertainment system updated 4 years a go for a android head unit with reverse camera too, and I also have installed a nextbase dashcam, but that is plugged into the cigarette lighter port, that's been in the car for 4 years too. i Just put on 4 new tyres, so I'm hoping this is a quick and easy fix.

when i'm sitting in car my cd changer seems to cycle often, if i open my door and close it sets it off too i think

That is normal for an E60 , there are 33 modules in mine so it does set it off too.

im currently having terminal 30g_f pop up but all of my stuff works, i have subs added and wired to the back of the car, the positive is on the battery and the ground is on the mounting point for the sos system, i had the car sit for a while cause i was doing maintenance so the battery died but i went to get it warrantied and got a new battery but the code still comes up? any ideas or is just sub woofers? (i also deleted the sos system and did the bypass from amazon, the loop, could that also be the cause? and my interior lights shut off when the car is running for 30 seconds or so) my shifter light is also not turning off, i know its supposed to go turn off when the car goes to sleep after 30-60 mins, thanks in advance for the help!

How did the problem unfold? Got a discharge warning, followed by 12.2v only, CCC/M-ask makes noise for a long time, so long I didnt sit and wait it all out.

@@CarlAlin That sounds like the soldering issue. You can see how long I sat in the car to hear if it goes off.

@@DocMackGarage update, found the issue: fuse 34 still does nothing, and its a 10A fuse for some reason. I have bluetooth carplay display in the car, apparently, when i turn off the car and or lock it whatever i do, it keeps the stereo on, since it can sense my phone nearby. Story: Turn car off, let my phone have bluetooth on, but my phone says it disconnected from the screen and can play sound on its own Stereo fan goes for 10 mins, then suddenly light for the start stop button goes on and it reconnects to my phone, phone is now connected and doesnt play sound on its own. I turn bluetooth off, fan goes for another 6 mins and then shuts off. So when i worked on my car today it kept stereo on because my phone was nearby and then wanred about the drainage, very weird because i have previously cleaned the car for 5 hours straight, and changed thermostat for 1.5 hours. and this work was like 1.5 and didnt warn before.

I left my car camera plugged in overnight, it drained the battery dead. I recharged the battery 100% drove the car 30 minutes left the car over night battery is dead again. Performed this sequence 3 days in a row, same result, dead battery. I now disconnect my battery at night and the battery is fine. I obviously have a parasitic drain I just can't find it.

My IBS is pre lci so seems kinda built in and theres a plug i disconnected maybe 10cm down the cable is that the right one? Just disconnects one cable

I accidentally got a short circuit in a wire that I had connected to the cigarette outlet and after that my car is charging up to full but as soon as I start the ignition it jumps back down to only 3 dots (max is like 7) on the charger and the car warns me about increased battery discharge... Im lost, not sure what to do or what could cause it? The battery is pretty much new but could it have been damaged maybe?
