@@tyrstark8673 Probably. In many cases people don't begin To understand a dog's behavior or how they should be treated. Some idiots treat the dogs like humans (thinking they are being "loving") to the animals detriment. Some of these nasty hefers are intimate with their dogs and that causes big problems for any man that comes around, not to mention the psychological impact on the dog. This scenario is far to common but not talked about....like it's some anomaly 🙄 Big red flag for me some chick says "my dog doesn't like men" 🤔

@flawsnalltreasures721
@flawsnalltreasures721 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe they didn't lie. Maybe the dog was aggressive towards the man in the household. Maybe the man in the household was abusing the people in the house and the dog was trying to protect them. If the dog was protecting the family members from someone it will do it all of the time not just when the person is being mean. Maybe they did the best thing for the dog and if the people are being abused they should leave as well. Maybe that's why this dog was nice to this guy, this guy was not the one being abusive to the other members of its previous home. What this video does show is that shelters should wipe the slate clean when they receive an animal then form their own opinion for each animal in their shelters. Shelters have no idea why a dog is deemed aggressive in their previous home. Previous owners will leave out the part about being abused by someone in the home, they can not admit to being abused because they are scared of what will happen when they get home.

"Aggressive"? "He doesn't like men" ? this same thing was said to me when I adopted my Cane Corso but she was all over me. She has always been a loving dog, but one day she met a guy at the park and became stand-offish and when he raised his voice at me about her, she became very protective. I've taken her to many places with tons of people and men she loved for hugs and belly rubs. I have a neighbor who she has been loving too but one day also got very protective of me, well turns out he had been drinking. Since then discovered anyone that been drinking she does not like. Did some research found the previous owner was an aggressive drunk and she was only getting in between him and family when he was drunk, all I can say 6 years later she still the same loves us and just keep away from heavy drinkers. And to the previous family, you got rid of the wrong animal.

So my fiance said I have to get rid of the dog...' She told that story to four women and one man. It was the MAN among us that clarified with this woman... The great thing is that Hooch didn't seem to have been damaged by it. Thank God. And then the guy just fell head over heals in love with him. From the second he laid eyes on him. THAT was awesome. There are some great people who foster quite a few animals, and do so year after year. Yet, in my experience most first time fosters end up as “failures” where the people end adopting the animal themselves. We fostered 10 dogs for the local humane society. They were all hard to give up, even though they went to good homes. We ended up keeping the last one and stopped fostering.

I dont think he had bad owners per se. They wrote a letter and yes, a letter is no justification that they're good but it could just be that he didnt click with the previous owners for whatever reason(s). Maybe one person in the family treated him badly or maybe he was traumatized by something in the old home and associate it with bad/negative.
@FWDSUXARSE
@FWDSUXARSE 3 жыл бұрын
@@kobisjeruk I'll reserve judgemental feelings I have, but that kiddos body language speaks volumes. I work with abused dogs as a volunteer (adopted one too) and it's all about how you treat them and show them how you love them and will protect them and take care of them. My rescue was terrified of me when she first saw me, but once we went out on a walk together she changed completely. Within the first 48 hours she fell asleep with her head on my thigh, paws up in the air. Dogs are pretty good judges of character. They may show apprehension and fear with a new person, but once you let them approach you on their own terms, they are pretty darn perceptive of a person's intentions for the most part.

@@FWDSUXARSE It was the fear of the doorway for me. That brief moment of hesitance. My dog has some form of trauma (I think she might've lived in a cage her whole life before Hurricane Harvey liberated her), and years later, she's still a bit nervous around doors. Like she's afraid of what will come through them. And that moment where Hooch hesitated? I think he was afraid of the same thing.

I used look after a beautiful border collie called Denver when his owner was no longer able. he was the friendliest sweetest dog I've ever known even if he was a big clumsy dumbass but we had to give him up when we went through some hard times. Scared or not, that’s the owner’s issue to deal with. It’s not fair to take it out the dog. Maybe they were projecting their fears onto him: that he would become uncontrollable and aggressive. Or maybe they provoked him bc of their fears ("kill them before they kill me" kind of idea). Regardless, that’s the owner’s responsibility to deal with their fears, not the dog. The dog is essentially an innocent child.

@@Roselyroses wrong. you could have pefect owners and pit bulls could still snap at any second. they were BRED to be fighting dogs. i dont think pit/breeds owners understand this. its literally stamped into pitbulls DNA. them not fighting and biting other things is like telling a shark to eat only vegetables. i mean, their name is PITBULL. just think about that for a second.

@@bonchidude you reached so hard and so far for that I hope you didn't throw out your back. I am 99% confident it was piss poor training technique. Trying to dominate a dog ends up with a dog that's agressive with you and others. Positive reinforcement and a gentle hand shows the dog the situation isn't hostile and it's not a fight for it's life.

Previous owner: "Yeah he doesn't like men." Doesn't like men? Or doesn't like YOU? That abandonment message is definitely suspicious given just how sweet he is. I thought when they said they "couldn't take it anymore" that maybe he was just a big loveable dog that didn't know his strength and just needed to be trained but he was actually pretty disciplined.

Yeah, a big goofball who needed lots of exercise and always wanted to play. Hooch is so obviously a good natured, easy going, boy. Some people really don't have a clue about dog behaviour. there's a high likely hood they just didn't want a dog, couldn't afford the dog or some other reason. You have to lie to abandon an animal and not be labeled with some volume of shame. Every indication from this dog is that he is perfectly behaved with a little hyper focus on the chocolate lab in all the video clips. I have known too many people who had to give up a pet because of some personal problem. Morel of the story the dog got to move to dog heaven on earth and is better for it, but lets not make a verdict without real evidence.
