it's a hard job and emotionally taxing that's why she's nearly crying at the end,you do really get attached raising them from a tiny baby then you have to let them go and they can literally get killed by other wildlife and theres nothing you can do you just have to let it happen so they can be wild

@@Aaron-zu3xn a wombat is unlikely to be killed by other wildlife. There are no natural predators of wombats in areas where you find wombats - but even dingoes and wild dogs would leave a wombat alone if they encountered each other (which is so unlikely its almost impossible). Its cars that are the big killer. I cant tell you how many wombats Ive seen dead on the M5 and Princes Highway between Sydney and Canberra. Its a lot. Thats probably what happened to this fella's mum. They didnt say it but I suspect they placed his new burrow away from traffic areas that are the main threat to him.

@@Dreyno Selective facts do not make much of an argument. There was a video just the other day about a young woman killed by coyotes. And wolves in the US. For some reason you don't comment about bears in the US and Canada. You can't argue that alligators are not a danger because of low numbers in a city when the exact same applies to crocodiles. They are mostly found in the swampy areas of the Northern Territory and zoos. But I saw a video of an alligator in a suburban street in Florida that a man managed to trap in a wheelie bin. I know vultures are scavengers but tell that to the person who is still conscious when they attack. 'Teen Folk Singer Killed by Coyotes' video.

Doesn't matter if there are humans around or not the wombat will ignore them and humans have nothing to do with wombats. Wombats are not hunted so are safe from hunters and as they are nocturnal they are asleep during the say when people are active.

Love it. I don't think "Far out" means the same in Australia as it does in America though! 😘 Very well done, ma'am.

You are right. We use it as a substitute for a certain, frustration relieving, word when impressionable ankle biters are present. Ankle biters is how we refer to very little human children, but not wombats, as you might expect. Though I think wombats might have been the inspiration for us in describing little kids in this way.

@@chookinathunderstorm3446 We use ankle biters name for toddlers and knee nippers for bigger kids. lol (At least where I live in the U.S.)😊

If there were more people in this world who open their hearts and their homes to injured, sick and abandoned animals in this world, there would be so much less suffering for these creatures. Who says "wild" animals don't have feelings of love and affection? This lady and the hundreds like her deserve our thanks for alleviating suffering to these animals caused by man and nature. Thank you for your kindness and hard work in providing care and a home until these creatures can make it on their own.

I was internally weeping too. I can hear how hard it was to watch her baby become a big boy and have to let him face the world on his own.
