This story of mine is pretty similar to Rudnik's. My late husband wasn't too much into horse's. But he told me l deserved a horse of my very own. Then a Palomino colt came along. His name was Justice (RIP sweet boy) and he fell in love with me and then Dan. Whatever Dan did around the place Justice was there. Dan and Justice were bros also. Dan never rode, but I did. Justice adored both of us. I truly miss both of them. So ladies if you find a Man and your horse falls in love with him, keep him by all means. Horse's and other animals can sense more than we can. there is a therapy ranch near where i live that lets a lot of us veterans come out and ride. and it's always the same thing, the horse chooses you. there is one Bay that i've ridden a number of times because he always knows i just need to feel the wind on my face. he will take me for a good run and then we just sit by the pond for a bit and enjoy the company. if i ever had the money for it, i'd buy enough land to sustain him and see if i could get him from the ranch.

What a beautiful story! I think I have the same "gift" with animals. Dogs, cats, horses have approached me as though they know me and will be very affectionate - and their owners will say, "I've never seen them react to a person like that before!" I'm the same way - 99% of random pets/livestock will just plop on my lap or approach me, even if they don't normally do that with strangers. The exceptions are a few specific cats, and cattle only fed by a single person normally (they're not very bright but they do remember who feeds them). Somehow deep down they must realize this person did "zoo school" as a teen and handled (and became friendly with) all sorts of zoo animals, so I have nothing to fear from them, etc, etc.

3 of my friends dogs have done that. I think my friend's boxer, Potato was the best reaction. My friends jaw was stuck on the ground for a few minutes when he walked right up, and let me love on him. No barking at me or anything. I always feel special when I get the "they don't normally do that"
