Thank you for educating me. I had no idea that the bit was controversial. :-)
@francisp1714 жыл бұрын
Controversial opinion : if used very lightly a bit or fillet is fine , there is a horse at my friends ranch who has a scar on his nose so he is a bit deaf to a bitless bridle and he needs a bit to go outside , I also think no saddle is much better for connecting to the horse and balance .
@anaalina59644 жыл бұрын
@@francisp171 The bit was made with the purpose to create pain and discomfort in order to get a horse to comply to demands. But yes, I do think if used lightly they aren't painful, just uncomfortable for the horse. But there is potential to cause pain without wanting to. Imagine the horse gets spooked by something while you're on, and you fall, and humans have a tendency/instinct to hang on to things as they fall(in order to try to stop the fall), and you have the bit on. You'll tear the poor horses face off. I don't support bits though, because most people are either too careless to not notice the pain they cause their horses with the bit(pulling too hard while angry or just pulling in general, not knowing it's painful), or some other people don't care about the horses and just want to make money even if it means hurting a horse. Horses can actually be trained to be ridden with a rope around their neck though, or a war bridle. The rope around the neck is a better option than a bit in my opinion, but your friend would have to put work onto that, it's not an easy switch to make.
