I have a dog that is approaching 13 years and I told her she had to live to be at least 20. I don't know how anyone could give up a 16-year-old dog that really has a simple fix. And if they had neutered him when he was young, he would never would have had testicular cancer.

My dog is 16.5 years old and I told her she had to live till she was 21. That's because I gave her as a 4-month old puppy to my mom. Mom cared for till she was 7. Now we've had her for more than 9 years and I told her that's not nearly enough time, so pretty please double that for us? She's had health scares this year, we even called a home euthanasia vet. Thank God for this vet - she cares more about dogs than making a buck, and she's an end of life specialist. After being in the phone with us over the course of two days, several hours invested, she finally asked me to ask Sasha if it was her time. Sasha said nope, I'm sticking with you by getting up & making a very large bowel movement - talk about the happiest mess I've ever cleaned up! Senior dogs have so much love & life to give if they're healthy and happy. We're lucky our little one is still with us. Will she make it to 21? Time will tell, but she's sleeping next to me right now & I couldn't be happier 🐾❤️🐾😂

New prescription only kibble for kidney health, a monthly arthritis injection, iron supplements, seizures, bladder leakage caused by getting fixed at too young an age, allergies. She was so healthy her first 12 1/2 years. My dad, who has been through this with many dogs, said it’s what happens to dogs as they age, just like us humans. Sorry for the long comment!
