How to: Curl hair! Hair tutorial for Ever After High, Monster High, Disney or Barbie doll

Hey everybody!
In this hair tutorial I'll show you how to curls you doll hair. In this video, I'm using the straw method. This method works great on your Ever After High, Monster High, Barbie, Bratz and Disney Doll.
Please make sure to be careful with hot water!!
In this video, I'm using the basic Darling Charming doll from Ever After High (Mattel)

such a great way to use plastic straws, and you can keep using them over and over! I recommend using one colour for the cut straws and a different colour for the uncut straws to prevent confusion when using them again!

Sir, you are a flipping genius with that cut straw slide! I just did a wash, set and dry.....only to have half the head turn out with bent or straight ends 😩 And now i have to redo it all over it again! Ive been watching different tutorials JUST to find out what other do for this & so far youre the only one (aside from a comment I read that suggested using perm rod papers, which is great if im able to use larger perm rods, but if im using smaller sections & need to use pipe cleaners or something, that wont work plus its just....MORE work that i dont want to do!). Thank you soo much for this! Now to fond plastic straws, bc apparently with ALLLL the plastics we use in the world, little plastic are the problem & some places are trying to get rid of them....drinking through paper, id love to know what genius came up w THAT idea, so I can use my paper straw for 3 minutes, then slap that wet soggy paper straw right onto his cheek! 😂😂 Most ridiculous invention since the Shake Weight! 😂

This is very neat and creative. I was looking for a way to curl my smaller dolls hair. I know how to curl my ag doll hair but I didn't know how to do a monster highs hair. Tysm for this quick and easy tutorial!

2:36 waiitttt I don't have to wait? likee after I've putted the doll's hair in straws (as curlers) I just dip the hair in boiling water for about 10-15 seconds or so then I rinse the hair in normal tempt of faucet water( I guess?) then I can remove the straws even if the hair is still wet? I don't have to wait for it to air dry overnight? Edit: pls answer, I've been trying to curl my EAH dolls hair for a long time but I've only succeeded once.

Yea, remember that a doll's hair is not made of natural hair, its artificial so it behaves different with temperature. The hot water molds them and locks the shape but i think the success depends on the type of hair your doll has since different doll lines or brands may use different quality hair

Just got into this hobby of collecting 1/6 female action figure. The hair of these figures often came frizzy out of the box. Its a real pain to manage them and i have this fear of balding them as style their hair. This is a really good technique but still have problem styling them. Urgh, my precious figures... Hope would get good like you soon...

The key is really to boilwash & cool off the hair before you remove the curlers!

Yea so you can manipulate the curls like he does because if you let it dry with the straws on they are going to be with undesired volume and probably wont look the way you wanted them to look

Just make sure you don't dip the flocked part and you should be fine!

Im sure you can straighten it out with hot water. Either way by brushing it should uncurl :)

For goodness sake how many times have I seen tutorials that you straws do you understand when people don’t have stores every single tutorial that I click on those straws please don’t use straws I want a tutorial without straws all of them are using straws or even typed out curling hair tutorial without straws please make a video with😢

Really?? This is the first one I seen WITH straws and that addresses the straight ends! Every other one I've seen used pipe cleaners, flat irons or the straw without the cut one over it (so no real reason to use straws, I just figured it was the smallest round thing they had 😂) and even perm rods. If you use perm rods, though, make sure to get the perm rod papers you use to wrap the hair in or you'll end up getting straight ends. I'm just surprised you don't have any stores that carry straws. Dollar stores have them, grocery stores have them, Walmart, or even Amazon has them. If you're really desperate, try going to a McDonald's or other chain fast food place and ask them if you can buy a handful of straws bc you need them for a project, I'm sure they won't mind. Some even have them out by the soda refill station and just grab a handful and have your friends grab a few too!
