i like that your intros aren't 5 minutes long. some people's intros are usually half the video. you get straight to the point and don't ramble on about every little thing. it makes you not just bearable, but enjoyable to watch.

T. D My family and I hate curly parsley and love flat leaf, and someone had given us a curly parsley plant and my dad was like, "Ugh well it'll die like any other plant in this house," (cause we're all terrible at taking care of plants) and that thing lived for two months! I swear no one ever even watered it. Meanwhile we do everything possible to keep the flat leaf parsley alive, and it wilts and dies in like a week. So frustrating!

Thank you so much. I like how your meal preps are for different meals each day. All the others want me to eat the same thing for the week. Blah! My biggest problem is I don't like leftovers. I was always frustrated with most meal prep vids and webpages is they make full meals. I literally get sick from eating the same thing over and over, so that won't work for me. I make up 4 servings of 2 grains, 1 or 2 legumes, roast vegetables and garlic (I am vegan btw), but just got a steamer, so I plan to do some steaming to broccoli and cauliflower and such too, but steaming is so quick so that can happen as I am making up my food. Thanks for adding more vegan ideas to your channel.

it's funny, I watch a lot of meal prep videos on your channel an on Alyssia's channel ... but I usually just pick a recipe to cook out of them ;) this video, which is less about the recipes, and more about the prep, really helped me realize that I should get back in the habit of prepping some things I used to make (like the lettuce!) and start prepping some things I've never prepped, like fresh fruit, a side of versatile grains, maybe even try that chicken, and the prepped veggies (because I am trying to eat more of those, and I usually fall short on being too lazy to cut them :P ). Terrific video Sara, I might just go and get my veggies for a mushroom soup I'm planning to cook this week ready later on today ;)

I think prepping your meals is a great idea, but there's one thing I don't really get yet: you always say those things last between 2 to 3 days (or 4, sometimes), so what do you do for the rest of the week? Do you just prep for Monday to Thursday or so and then cook freshly on Fridays and Saturdays? Maybe that's a really stupid question, but I'm curious to know if I just missed something here :D
@angurboda20156 жыл бұрын
oh and also: what about the vitamins and stuff, is cutting your veggies in advance and storing them in the fridge for a few days not gonna get rid of some of them?
@urbanequinox6 жыл бұрын
Angur Boda Many nutritionists say that there is some loss (I don't believe it is something drastic like losing half the vitamins and minerals) of nutrients after peeling and cutting produce - but if u weigh the convenience of it making u more likely to cook your own food (which is usually healthier than restaurant food) and thus eat said vegetables, against not cooking due to laziness come dinner time, it's obviously way better to go the first route.
@JULOC056 жыл бұрын
It's a good question. The once a week shopping and cooking is just a guideline to keep you on track. Although I shop on the weekend for most items, I don't buy tons of every type of produce for the next 7 days because I know some of it will look sad probably by Thursday. I'd rather buy a little more during the week if needed. I also store a few fresh foods in the freezer like berries or sliced ginger and I also make stews and other dishes that freeze well for later use. Here is a helpful link: www.pastrywiz.com/storage/produce.htm .
@chocolateandducttape6 жыл бұрын
You could also put things like grains and proteins in the freezer
@angurboda20156 жыл бұрын
@JULOC05, @ks Yeah, the freezer would be an option. I hate it though, I don't have a microwave to defrost and always forget taking something out the freezer before leaving for work or so to cook it in the evening. So, unfortunately no option for me :D I am proud to say though I cook all my meals myself (except if I'm invited or something of course), sometimes not entirely from scratch, but often enough. So the weekly meal prep would just save some time and effort after a hard working day.
