This is really beautiful! I really appreciate your quiet, steady instructions. I learned how to make those fantastic big drops I’ve seen and have been wary of trying to do. I have some plastic meat trays and salad containers I use to practice on, that way I can wash off and reuse. Keep your tutorials coming and thank you.

I always practice on paper first, too. With enough practice it will start to come easily for you. With dotting even the practice is fun. Enjoy! 😊

I've seen dot art for a while now, and I have recently started to dabble. I'm so glad I have found your videos as you explain things so well. I've searched in a lot of different places for advice and tips and I was starting to think it was a closely guarded secret. Thank you for being transparent and supportive 💗

It IS a closely guarded secret. I'm just bad at keeping secrets! j/k Tell all your friends ; ) Also check out Lydia May, Kristen Uhrig, and Miranda Pitrone on KZbin for more great tutorials. Thanks!

Very nice design. To clean your tools you just need to wipe them off with a paper towel while they're still wet. Letting the paint buildi up changes the size of your dot...but you do you. Thanks for taking the time to put this tutorial together. 🙋🌴

Your design actually helped me out of my creative block. I've done the Torus in a few ways now - and people have asked me dine if they could buy them, which is completely new to me. I would LOVE for you to do more big canvasses like this one - with or without stencil doesn't matter to me. I just want to watch. Oh and BTW. I've always found the teardrops and swipe swooshes intimidating. But not anymore. Now I know how 😀 ... Please keep going. Love your tutorials!!! Greetings from Summer in Denmark 🎨💕

So many good things here! ❤️ Creative blocks are gnarly beasts, glad I could help! Drops and swooshes are totally doable. 👍 So glad you got something from the video. Keep painting.

Rachael, your work is exemplary and gorgeous. Could you please give a ballpark cumulative time so far? In other words, in real time how many hours did Parts 1, 2, and 3 each take? This large a mandala is very ambitious. I’ll start much smaller LOL. But hope to someday accomplish large ones such as this. It’s just exquisite!
@TheDottingCenter4 жыл бұрын
Hi Anita! This one would probably take a few hours, but don't let that stop you. I've found that large projects are much more enjoyable and they tend to look better because they have more time to breathe. Every day you wake up to the same project and you get to see it with fresh eyes. It's a journey, not a destination kinda thing : )

I love your videos. I just found you! I was wondering if you might be able to tell us the size of your tools in cm. I just bought some tools and would like to be able to use them rather than buying another set. However, I’m really loving your silicone tools and your wax sticky thing.
@TheDottingCenter5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Welcome! All the tool sizes are listed in my Etsy shop in mm as well as inches👍 check out The Dotting Center on Etsy for metric sizes 👍
@farahclay9125 жыл бұрын
Nice. Dragging the dots with a nail stylus would surely give you the same effect as with a silicone tipped tool. Agree?
@TheDottingCenter5 жыл бұрын
Farah Clay there's a small difference in that the silicone tool bends so it's got a different feel. But yeah you can do the same thing with both. 👍

I have a small set of silicone tools but my bend to easy to use. I noticed in the video that these are staying firm. Maybe I have a cheaper brand of tools?
@TheDottingCenter5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, I haven't used many other brands of silicone tools. My 1/8" tips are pretty bendy, sometimes that's a good thing.

Hi, the tool used to drag the paint, is it the ones I use for blending pastels? Soft rubber tipped? I’m inspired. 🙏🏼. Great camera work too.

Do you find the drags are easier with the stylus as they are with a pointed dotting tool

I use both! I only use the tiniest stylus tool to drag the paint but either will work 😊 Great question.
