I hope everyone had a great week! My voice only just recovered from a cold with this recording so it’s a bit rough, my apologies! I hope you like this concept for a video. Drawing different proportions is tricky but totally worth mastering.

What an art book for design. BOTW is a phenomenal art book. It goes to show how great the design work is that even the generic everyday items and people of Hyrule are all so interesting. Love to see a follow up with some of the different ladies from the book. Great example of varied body and costume designs. Your style has always reminded me of the Zelda team’s art. I’m playing Tears of the kingdom obsessively right now!

Yeah it's an awesome book. Shows a lot of real development work. Keen to do more characters from the game soon! Thanks so much for your comment!

This video was so enlightening, thank you so much for taking the time and patience to share all this knowledge. Personally, I find the way you approach each topic so easy to get along with, sometimes it's hard trying to figure out tutorials or step-by-step images, but seeing how you draw while commenting on why you do certain things is much easier and entertaining! After watching this video, I'm inspired to try drawing characters with some extreme proportions.

Hey Tim! Very good series! I appreciate how you are puting a lesson on each of these videos besides the character drawing itself. It look like you will go through the 4 races - which I thing its very good. Once you do, maybe there is an “extra video” there on the coloring part, if you think there os something to be said about the color design, too. I hope this series is giving your channel some well deserved growth an that more people are finding and buying your courses because of it. You surely deserve it! Btw, thank you fir another amazing lesson!

I hate to be critical because I know this was just a quick thing and you can do great work, but I think what this video shows best is what not to do. You moved onto 'primary forms' as you called it far too early. The proportions were dramatically wrong on the Zora, but you moved on anyway and if this was a serious piece it would have been much more work to fix later on.

Drawing and process can always be improved.

Part of my approach is to never do canned demos where I have actually done the same drawing many times. This shows the process and the way mistakes do happen as we work through a drawing. To properly understand the form and proportions will take a few passes.

no, main thing is crap. manga keeps the crap out. you know what youre getting from the start because thats what they said they were gonna give you. you pick up a book on boxing and you get boxing. thats every chapter and it stays on target. they know the reading came to be entertained and stay on mission
