Connor Jones I totally agree with you! Metallica wanted to do more bluesier sounding songs when they wrote Load and Reload. Those two albums have a bunch of really great underrated songs on them. The people who hated those albums seem to forget that Metallica released Garage Inc after Reload, bringing back there more Thrashier sound. Then albums like Death Magnetic And Hardwired To Self Destruct where also a return to form. In the end you either like Metallica or you don’t, it’s that simple. For me personally I enjoyed all of there albums for different reasons and the people who keeping clamoring about how they sold-out just need to get over it because it’s extremely tiring hearing this debate for over 25 years now.

@@hdaaap WOW what a grand display of ignorance, but anything better wouldn't be expected from someone thinking this is a masterpiece. Obviously you can't comprehend the lyrics or Iron Maiden. They have written about War, Religion, The Occult, Depression, History, Personal Passions and much more. Just because they're not crying about being "torn" because of their life doesn't make them worse. Steve Harris for example is a far better lyricist.

To me thrash is the pinnacle of metal... just my opinion. Death metal sounds like pure shit. Black. It's all trash. Growling and screaming is only good when it's understandable. Otherwise it's basically the metal equivalent of mumble rap. Just saying.

this is my favorite song of this album.. I guess every one has a personal meaning. When he says I search the outside and search inside, and the more he search the more he need, bless and bleed.. the way he describes the feeling is so sad and hard.. he needs revenge for something but love at the same time. It makes me think about God and a woman also.. humans are really complicated. Is a damn good master piece

The Band is the Greatest of all Metal as far as I'm concerned, I've been Listening to these guys, since the early 80s, and they just keep on churning out Hits, Keep up the Great Music my friends.

This song at 5:30 comes as close as anything to my experience of coming to during spinal surgery grogily and out of it to become suddenly aware of my spine wide open and no morphine drip turned on... The pain was so intense it made sound! It took them 2 10 shots of demural and 3 10 shots of morphine before I stopped screaming. I consciously went insane during that snafoo.

20 years later this still resonates. Try as you might to be a good father, husband and member of the community, putting on the suit and tie, hiding the tatts and the past, there is still that little bit of darkness in your soul you can't escape. That feeling there is just something missing. That you're supposed to find something. And is this "good girl" by my side really who I'm supposed to spend my life with while I'm haunted by the ones who got away. To colour inside the lines or not

Pardon the cliche, but epic:1)James voice 2) build up from a slow distorted jazzy(& funky) beat to a majestic melding-of-instruments into a gravitas of Wagnerian operatic proportions3)lyrics 4)it feels musically and lyrically that it is addressing the space time continuum thing if that makes any sense. 5) the final act/ending. Perfect.

Maybe the greatest song never heard by most! The Outlaw Torn, is about how we (me) have tried and failed to succumb to rightous acts. I'm outlaw torn. And I'm Torn. So on I wait my whole life time for you The more I search the more I need for you, The more I bless the more i need for you. I need to be "perfect" in the eyes of most who consider laws absolute, but i do drugs and i get drunk, so im outlaw torn, like selling drugs or being in jail! There's that woman or man, that special person waiting for you there, when youre at your worst. And I'm Torn! Hear Me! And if i close my mind in fear, please pry it open... and so on... You ever been there, you've been at your worst withe the most wonderful person there, whom you will never hurt like you do to yoursef, and you're torn too!

We got a personal Metallica, them being personal. Writing their songs their way, as they’ve always done. They grew up a bit, but hey it’s so honest I see why people shit on this, reload, & st. Anger. People don’t like honesty

In February 2022, my girlfriend, Anniken lost her paternal grandmother, meaning that she had lost 3 out of her 4 grandparents. I was sick, but didn't have COVID-19. I was ill for almost the whole week. If Club Jona were to pay a tribute to me, this song would've been performed, even after I returned back to perform with everyone once again.

Too bad almost no one deserves this anymore. 30 years from now a few will even fathom what he's been talking about. Oh well, sad but true will still stand then.

I tried to look up what the meaning behind this song was. Outlaw Of Torn is a book by Edgar Rice Burroughs one of my favorites and is about a Prince stolen and raised by a swordmaster in the ultimate vengeance to attack the monarch that insulted him. The Outlaw Torn is a book every 10 year old should read and I think this song is about that book and not anything else. The Outlaw torn could never show his face because his appearance was to recognizable. He rode the dust. So If you are wondering what this is about, I guarantee you that you should read that book and you will know. Every 9 yr old boy should read that book.
