What if James never go on rehabilitation before St.anger and he loses his fight with depression and alcoholism? Maybe people after his premature death will start to view load and reload as a reflection of his dark times and start praising this masterpiece. Luckily James won, he is alive and load and reload still misunderstood gems.

Like Chester Bennington of Linkin Park in their last album, One More Light. If Chester never killed himself, the lyrics there would pass unnoticed and the fans would crucify the album and the band, until they put out something to make fans happy (like what happened to Metallica)

That Guitar Guy Metallica proved with St. Anger and the Loads they CAN do anything and do it well. And then there’s S&M! First of all, metal is a way of life to most people, not just music, so they take changes personally. Other metal bands don’t stray from the formula because of that, or they don’t have the talent or the balls! Metallica are MUSICIANS, not just metalheads. They proved that. They aren’t afraid to experiment, grow, change. You can’t stagnate in metal mode your entire career because that’s what you fans want, especially if you’re growing and changing as a person. They always said they do what THEY want. Everyone’s not gunna like that and you can’t make everyone happy. If people don’t like it, they can listen to one of their albums they do like. It took me 10 years to truly appreciate the Loads and I love them now. Sometimes you just need to grow into stuff...or out. 🖤

@@PippaPPod you're 100% correct. It bugs me when people say they sold out. Yes their style changed yes it was successful but they did what they wanted the way they wanted and didn't care what anyone thought. It wasn't like like said hey we need to change and sound like this so we can be more mainstream. It just kind of happened that way. What metallica does is the opposite of selling out. They do what they want period and don't care what anyone says. They've never done what the label told them or anything of the sort. People see it as a change that made them more of a house hold name and automatically equate that to selling out but that is incorrect imo.

This is my life. More true now than ever. I haven’t heard this in years and it made me cry-and I don’t cry easily. Sometimes I wonder how James can know how much I suffer and how I feel. Well, we all suffer and James speaks my language. Maybe not everyone’s. Maybe St. Anger isn’t for everyone but that doesn’t mean it’s crap! I’ve always loved James lyrics, especially since I’m basically a lyrics chick. People can hate St. Anger all they want. Maybe it’s not musically what they consider metal enough, but I think it’s a lyric driven album. This album is a journey-Hetfield’s and the band-and a metamorphosis. It’s the film, Some Kind of Monster, set to music. I 🖤 these guys even though my body’s too broken to bang my head anymore. Stick another pin in me...shoot me again I ain’t dead yet. What an epic song. Cant get loud enough. I remember listening to this song as a 12yr old when this album came out and wondering why I got chills/goosebumps. Still get em.

Оne of very underestimate songs. It is like line up from To Live is To die, Outlaw Torn and Fixxxer. Very powerful lyrics.

Load and Reload are two of the best albums Metallica has ever produced 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 back in the day of real METAL.🔥🔥🔥

Highly underrated song. If this song wouldve been on a more popular album, this song wouldve been alot bigger. Bet it wouldve been on the radio.

Load and ReLoad helped me make it through some really tough days following a very tragic event involving my son. For myself, Metallica holds great value. Load and ReLoad masrerpieces of art..

Finally the most underrated song ever fixxxer gets a mention, when I first heard it all the way through I couldn't believe everyone didn't know it. It's stupid it isn't more known.

It takes anguish to feel this song... To feel this album. Deep anguish and contortion of self. Wrought by others and self alike.

With Mama Said on Load talking about his mother and this masterpiece on Reload about his father, it paints a bleak picture of James' childhood...I knew he didn't have a good relationship with his parents but holy shit he must have REALLY hated them...

I would love to sing this song at any karaoke night. This is one of my all time favorite songs by Metallica. Keep on rockin!

This song is so underrated. Everything about it is fantastic, especially the main riff. Metallica are the masters of low-key bangers like this.

It's crazy how I went from 13 listening to MOP and loving the fast and heavy songs to being 28 and now loving mainly the slow melodic and deep cuts with the introspective lyrics. Maturity

Seriously people hating on this are stuck in the 80s and early 90s Metallica evolved with the times and did it well

This is probably the deepest song they ever did. Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, Until It Sleeps, and Fixxxer. The big four of the gut-wrenchers James wrote. Maybe Unforgiven 1 and 3, I'll put them up there too. But those 4 are untouchable.
