This is only the 2nd time I've seen MGK in an interview, but he seems like such a kind soul that's been a bit battered around. The love and compassion he has inside definitely seems to shine outward, even if he has dark moments looming around. Hopefully he and Megan can be that beacon for one another. We all deserve peace in life, even if it can be hard to find most of the time.

As a 50+ year old woman, wife & mother, I embarrassingly admit I TOTALLY judged a book by its cover regarding Machine Gun Kelly. Drew made him feel so comfortable and embraced that I saw such a kind, loving, gentle soul who maybe IS a little lost, but aren’t we all?! I literally wanted to hug him when the interview was over. Honesty is magical. Maybe just stop judging people by how they look then... Just a thought, because "judging a book by its cover" is a saying, but it doesn't ever make it OK. He feels that way because of people doing that. Mistaking everything about us with in depth misjudgements when you have no idea. I can relate, and honestly it just made me do it back n judge 50+ women for being mean and judgemental but that hurts me aswell and more people in turn, so I don't do it anymore. But if I find myself wanting to react because it happens alot. I'll remember it's just an awareness thing, they have no idea and must be in more pain than me anyway to feel the need to misjudge somebody.

There was no image crafted for him. If anything it looks like that now but it's not. When he was rapping that was all him wild and dressed like a rocker. Today he dresses a bit feminine which seems the farthest from what I'd ever expect to see him do but I'm guessing Meghan has alot to do with it which isn't really a crafted image either just his girlfriends taste

You can tell his shift from looking down and away go looking at her and connecting. He needed some time to adjust and she treated him like a human and allowed him to adjust on stage and then he started the eye contact, opened his body to the crowd, and shared his life without much need for it to be pulled out. Loved this!

He is from the inner city of Cleveland, had a kid as a teenager, got involved in drugs, and guess what? Rose above all of it and still kept pushing. Now he is openly discussing mental health, being spiritual, and keeping your promises/obligations. I’d say his family is proud!

As a huge MGK fan, I remember someone once told me "you shouldn't praise his relationship with his daughter because no dad who looks and acts like that could be a good dad" They said that right after I told them one of my favorite things about Kells is how he treats his daughter like she's his everything (because she is). His relationship with Casie is the type of relationship I WISH I had with my dad. This is the kind of relationship I want to have with my future kids. This man is an inspiration, whether you like his music or not. There is so much more to him than Rap Devil.

Hiding behind a mask is such a toxic thing to do to yourself, but I know how much it can’t be helped because I’ve gone through it before, It must really be so much harder to remove that mask or that persona as an artist like MGK though. I’m so glad that he realises that he doesn’t have to wear that mask all the time and that Drew is supportive of that. This makes me feel better.
