His ability to get back on the horse within a month and do what it takes to make Giant Bomb is damn admirable.
@WackoZacko18 жыл бұрын
the only reason he got back so fast was cause everyone helped him cause they were disgusted. not exactly 100% on him.

Dave helped immensely. He really created everything not in front of the camera for GB. Dude deserves more credit.

I still wonder about how much the Penny Arcade comic helped Giant Bomb's popularity. That's how I first learned about this whole thing, and of Jeff.
@tristanedwards73025 жыл бұрын
I think it helped, but Jeff was already very high profile in games journalism. Keep in mind he was a senior editor at Gamespot, one of the most popular game news sites especially at the time, and between 'On The Spot' and 'The Hotspot' he and a lot of the other eventual GiantBomb guys had already established themselves as characters beyond their editorial work and had visibility to the audience.

Same, I probably would've stumbled over them eventually but it planted the seed.

I didn't listen to podcasts - or know what they were, really - until then and I started with Arrow Pointing Down so there's at least one.

it's great to hear them talking on the real. sure, the podcast is raw, but there's still prep. this is just dudes driving and telling stories. awesome.

I mean jeff talked about the entire thing when giantbomb got bought out by cbs interactive, what more is there to say? the entire thing was fucked, all of those people are long gone.

Sometimes he's a bummer and maybe talks over people more than he means too. So I can see why he's not for everyone. I genuinely like him though. He's great at articulating a point and his wit is fucking lightning quick.

I don't listen or follow any of these guys as much as fans but I generally like all of their reviews back in the gamespot days. Alex Jeff and Greg Kasavin were my favorites.

Just wanted to jump on the Alex hate train. He’s a terminally unfunny, pessimistic, self-deprecating piece of crap that adds nothing to any situation he’s pressed into.
