GV60 vs Audi Q4 e-tron: Is Genesis Among Equals?

I would choose the GV60. It has a more luxurious styling as well as a fresher design and offers better road presence. I like everything about it, but I just cannot get past the lower front grill/fascia. The Audi doesn't give off the look of luxury its Brand/Badge suggests. It looks more like a normal sporty design of a family type boxy SUV. I'm not paying for luxury to get a crossover suv sport. So, both of these are off my list of first EV to buy. I was really looking forward to the GV60 though, since I have the GV80 Prestige. But I just can't do it. It just looks like an insect from the front, and I know I won't be able to get over it. I'll wait to see what's next and hopefully I will soon get my first EV.

I prefer the sleek styling of the GV60. I was waiting for the Q4 e-tron, late last year, but Audi couldn't even tell me when the car would be available in the U.S. I hope the GV60 has better availability.

Some other items to consider: breaks, suspension, stereo, interior sound levels, acceleration, row 2 leg and head room, car weight, delivery timeframes, US fed tax benefits (after 8/16/22), HUD, and getting missing comparison data (if cars are being produced and delivered, the data is somewhere...) Initially I would prefer the GV60. Genesis is pushing quality EV luxury. Audi Q4 pushes a smaller less expensive E-Tank, and has made cost cutting measures with breaks, stereo, range, interior, size.

I bought a GV60 Performance Edition in Atacama Copper from the first boat load to hit CA. My wife loves it. The safety features are incredible. I fully charged it and raced my neighbor in his 2019 C7 Corvette with Z06 options two times. First in Sport Mode; the 'vette won. Scond in Sport Mode with the Boost button; dead heat to 60 mph 😁 FWIW, the GV60 weighs 1300 LB more than the Vette.

We bought an Ioniq 5 in February and liked its so much we stopped driving all our other cars, including my 2017 C7 grand sport corvette. I started to feel bad for it, then took a test drive of the gv60 and decided to sell the C7 and buy the gv60. I say with a completely straight face that the gv60 is way more fun to drive, and feels much faster and more refined. We figured we would sell the Ioniq but like it so much we can’t let it go.

I might have gone with the GV60 if it was available in my state. Right now my only choice is the Q4 with a local dealer and demo vehicles available. I test drove the Q4 today and it drives pretty nice. I wish it had more exterior color choices like the GV60. However, I do prefer the body matching wheel arches and less black trim along the bottom of the Q4. The GV60 is looking a little like off-road rather than a luxury suv, like it's big brothers GV70 and GV80.

Hardly any of either model have been delivered in the US and delivery times are unknown. Would be better to do an honest comparison after a bunch are available to buy, ie have actually been produced, delivered, and driven.

When reading the comments below there is a winner by unanimous decision: GV60. Awesome car, I ordered one but there is a massive backorder. So I had to settle for a Hyundai Ioniq5 that I "ONLY" have to wait for about 2 months...

Went for the badge in my last 5 vehicles, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. All were a disappointment. These were the most unreliable crap cars I’ve ever owned. Then Lexus which was boring to drive. Moving to Genesis now.

Do Genesis provide the traditional dealership approach or do the favour the rather impersonal online approach favoured by Tesla. This will be a very important factor to me when deciding where I spend my money when the time comes.

The gv60 has way too many downsides and losses in comparison to other brands. I really hate to say it but for Genesis this looks like a loser until they truly bring it back to actual luxury. Why bother with that when you can get the Kia or the Hyundai, and still have the same amount of hard plastics and soft touch areas?
