5:45 Yes he does stand in the bathtub.... We're not entirely sure why Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor was just wrong casting. I like him as an actor in certain roles but this one just did not work. Lex Luthor has always been portrayed as an intelligent, calm, confidant man with an obsession for Superman. In this movie he was played as a snobby rich kid who was incredibly spastic & always on the brink of insanity. He was basically playing him as the joker calling himself Lex Luthor. Also Wonder Woman is in this movie.

@@theduckgoesmoo that is part of it. The other part is that he is a rich guy with issues, lots of issues (his own words). In most representations, Batman, as a rule, does not kill people (not directly, but he does give them concussions lol) and also nearly never uses guns (handguns anyway, he does use missiles oddly enough) (he told darkseide in the comics that he was making an exception just once for him and then shoots him with a single god killing bullet (from Final Crisis)).

1. You should absolutely check out some of Angryjoe's content. Particularly his reviews of bad games from the 2010s. His review of Ride to Hell is *LEGENDARY* and easily earns him a spot in the internet hall of fame 2. To answer your question , the movie itself wasn't bad on a technical level, it was simply overstuffed. It took like 5 different storylines and mashed them together to please everyone, but in the end pleasing literally noone. Basically everyone agreed that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck were underutilised as Superman and Batman and that Jesse Eisenberg, while a good actor, was horribly misscast with the script not exactly doing him any favors. Add on top of that the fact that Wonder Woman and Doomsday are crammed in and you forget this movie is literally called *Batman vs Superman* and that they fight for like maybe 5 minutes, with a resolution that is memed to this day.

DC movies tended to work better with their animated universe. The live action cinematic universe was pretty much plagued with misinterpretations of the characters and riding that trend of dark gritty storylines. Not all of the DC cinematic universe is bad though. There’s some good ones.

Wonder Woman's civilian identity made appearances here and there but she showed up in her superhero identity at the final battle. Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman only had 5 second cameos on a computer Unfortunately, Batman does kill people in this movie. He brands criminals in prison that the officers will put the branded people to the death chair. Snyder completely misunderstood this oneshot alternate universe comic in the 80s and thought Batman did kill in that story, except he didn't. I believe he goes through a character arc where he stops being a killer.

Uh, Batman branding is not so people will be put to death. Batman doesn't even know that the branded criminals are being killed, or care since he's stopped caring about collateral damage. But he's not branding with the intent to kill. The reason branded criminals are dying is because Lex is paying off people to kill them so as to fuel anger against Batman. It's dumb, but it's a different dumb than what you said.

Only nit pic was that using the kryptonite gas first was a good plan he still needed to surprise superman before stabbing him. if bat man just pulled out the spear first then superman would of went air born and lasered it out of his hands or dodged out of the way sup is faster after all, bat man needed to appear weaker and keep superman close to gas him.

When it first came out I didn’t like BVS and now I grew to hate this Movie more than ever before as it’s one of my Least Favorite Films of All Time, they kill Jimmy Olsen and the First Robin for no reason, Superman and Batman are broken reflections of their Iconic Roles, the Tone of the Story is Terrible, the Justice League Cameos are Pointless, Lex acts like the Unholy Spawn of Joker and Riddler that the Actor was Miscasted, and Doomsday was done so Dirty, and the Rest are s a Fundamental Mess.

@@ZomgRuler It’s the exact same movie as Josstice League so all your criticisms from that apply, as well as Darkseid being made into a pathetic idiot, Superman’s scream waking the motherboxes is laughably stupid, Flash has the ability to fix the timeline whenever he wants with no repercussions and Martian Manhunter being the most blatantly key-dangling fan service I’ve ever seen in my life. The only improvement it has on Josstice League is the Cyborg scenes, and even those were underdeveloped and Joss still improved on what he could with the “I wasn’t talking about me” line and having Cyborg in a hoodie when trying to be incognito. The narrative that ZSJL was some great improvement is one of the most absurd lies of the last decade. It was evident that bar one or two scenes like Batman and the parademon which was stupid, Joss did his best to improve on the garbage product Zack made in the minimal time that was afforded to him. But there was only so much he could do because the baseline product is a terrible story and a terrible movie.

"Batman doesn't kill people, does he?" He does in this movie. Explicitly. Yeah this movie is BAD. For so many reasons. First of all, this is Batman's FIRST appearance in the DCEU (the Bale trilogy isn't in the DCEU, they're stand alone.) and they make him wildly unstable, kill numerous people, and he wants to murder Superman because he MIGHT become evil eventually (which for SOME reason, THIS was the plot device Marvel decided to steal for their travesty Dr Strange sequel. That movie makes this one look like Avengers.), ignoring the fact it's totally Superman's fault Metropolis was demolished and so far EVERY massive threat to the planet has been directly tied to Superman. Zod showed up because he was there, and Doomsday is made because Superman just let humans have insanely advanced technology they're not ready for. But a drone trying to follow him when he can fly faster than high speed jets? Gotta smash that and throw it dangerously close to people. The motivations are screwed, the characters are awful, and the individual plot lines are only good because they were taken from like FIVE different comic storylines that were actually good. By the way, Wonder Woman's in this movie. In both this movie and Man of Steel, Superman NEVER DOES SUPERHERO WORK! He saves a FEW people that were either put in danger BY him or were literally in danger directly in front of him. Then he ignores all the civilians and just fights the bad guys in the city killing millions. Metropolis is being slowly destroyed by a dubstep machine, and he decides to fly to the OTHER side of the planet to destroy a similar machine that isn't actively killing anyone FIRST. Superman is NOT a hero in the DCEU. Batman, who only appears in this and justice league, is also not a hero. He BRANDS people, kills people, he wants to kill Superman for no reason, and then he makes such an insane 180 he's prepared to sacrifice everything just to bring Superman back cause despite having the entire justice league they're hopeless without Superman! The DCEU in general is just, ugh. Now watch Internet Historian you coward.

They do the reviews in reenactment rather than showing clips directly from the movie for reviews of films with severe copyright claim issues. This channel, last I heard, had to fight off a new claim every other day due to the nature of their job. Some companies are more lenient than others, so they can just show clips from the movies themselves. Usually animated films and older films. But every now and then they'll review a movie and they'll need to reenact the scenes, which they use to tell jokes within the scenes.

And as far as 'Man of Steel' goes. Here's the TL:DR Superman's human dad gets mad whenever he tries to do good things. Superman's alien dad gives him the suit out of nowhere and tells him to do stuff. Evil aliens (Zod) want to terraform Earth, despite the fact that could rule Earth with superpowers. A shit ton of builds are destroyed when Superman fights them, implying that a shit ton of people were in this builds. Superman snaps a Zod's neck, freaks out that he's a murderer, gets over it an hour later. The End.

Please you have to check out World's Finest. If you wanna see Batman and Superman team up in a good movie. There is also Batman Superman: Public Enemies. That movie is set in Earth 2 and alternate universe where Cara is Power Girl not Supergirl. It also has a great deal more camp since it focuses more on the comic it came from. And that's where the charm comes from. Then there is Batman Hush this multi part comic has been adapted into a direct to dvd animated feature, It's a Batman/Catwoman story with a big Superman fight in the first act. Finally either read, or watch The Dark Knight Returns. This is the book that Batman V. Superman is primary based on. The main difference is, That story is set 30 years after the Batman's first appearance. This story is about to men that have known and respect each other for decades and they have to fight over politics, and philosophy. It's also a bit of a dystopian landscape and cyberpunk. And filled with Frank Miller's unhealthy obsession with hating Ronald Regan. So much so that he changed Superman's core personality to make him mindlessly obedient to the Gipper. The fight itself is fantastic. Needless to say, the story itself has never been canon. But it has been retold plenty of times, One of my favorite's is from the last season of The Batman (2005).

I'm so conflicted on this film. On the one hand it's gorgeous, has really ambitious political themes that were very relevant in 2016, has an amazing score, has some great acting by Affleck, Gadot, Irons, and Holly Hunter, and has probably the best-directed Batman action sequence ever put to film. On the other hand, it's over-stuffed beyond belief, has some really bland acting on the Superman side of things, miscast Lex Luthor, lacks any of the humor or optimism Superman should have, rushes together the Justice League, and is poorly paced. And that's the Ultimate Edition I'm talking about being a mediocre movie, the Theatrical Cut was barely a film at all due to how entire plot threads were ripped out with no care for structure. The UE is a bad movie, the Theatrical Cut isn't a movie at all, it's just a collection of scenes.

Just to let you know, this review is mainly about the theatrical cut to _BvS._ Whereas, when the movie came to Blu-ray and Digital, they released the Ultimate Edition, which contained 30 extra minutes of footage not shown in theaters. I wouldn't say the Ultimate Edition is a good movie, because you still gotta deal with Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (his motivation is explained in the Ultimate Edition and it's not that much better than whatever they gave us in the theatrical cut) and the shoehorning of the other JL members and Doomsday. But the Ultimate Edition is an improvement over the theatrical cut in terms of pacing and the flow. And some of the other issues it has were retroactively made better due to the Snyder Cut of _Justice League._

Okay, so couple things, Questions Answered: -Please watch Batman Begins and dark knight. Worth the time and actually tell you what Batman is supposed to be. -Jessie Eisenberg made lex a giant man-child -Wonder woman is in because she hasn't been relevant for years so time to bring her in. -In this movie Batman kills. Long story short, Jason Todd and the Joker. -Joss Wheadon is... A idiot. -lois lanes job is to be Clark Kent's anchor and be a damsal in distress. And that's it -Yep, the whole premise of the title is Lex blackmailing Superman. -the Fight is... Fine. It's good, but the build up and context is bad -Yep, that's it. Martha. At the very end. -Superman movies... alot. Fun Fact: -The movie was based on the Dark Knight Returns, a phenomenal animated movie. And then got shafted by Joss wheadon and Zach Snyder. -Henry Cavill got shafted by the Directors and he can't come back as Superman, The Rock even tries to get him back for Shazam and Black Adam, but didn't. -and Henry Cavill quit the Witcher as it didn't follow the source material, and that the witcher directors say they didn't care about the originals. Also, Look up Pink Kryptonite, it's neat.

Joss Whedon had nothing to do with this film. Justice League was the one Joss Whedon reshot, not BvS. BvS is mostly on... well actually not even Snyder, it's mostly on David S. Goyer. A vast majority of the problems with BvS were inherent to Goyer's script, regardless of director, and there's even parts Snyder and rewriter Chris Terrio tried to change but weren't allowed to (Like Batman branding people. Snyder actually wanted to remove that, but the studio said no). Now don't get me wrong, some problems come from Snyder and Terrio (The Martha scene was entirely Snyder). But Goyer should get nowhere near the pass for this movie that he does.

I didn't like this movie. 3:56 there had been animated movies whit them together, i'm sure of it. 9:53 indeed, Batman dosn't kill people, unless is on this movie, here he brands the whit burning red Iron as send then to be kill, or just blows them up whit some misiles. 18:26 i know of at least 6 live action movies were he is the protagonist, many more animated ones.

In the movie during the car chase Batman causes some of the cars chasing him to crash and explode. The movie didn't really look back or acknowledge it but we all know Batman not-alived some people.

To be fair the other major Batmen in film did similar things (Keaton's caused a few police car collisions during an escape and burned a man alive with it's exhaust flame, while Bale's flattened a truck and blew up several cars in a parking garage while chasing The Joker)

just to let ya know a comic fact since its not really relevant to this movie or review but kryptonite isnt Superman's only weakness, just his most mainstream one for one he's also weak to magic also its a real shame that DC tried and failed to play catch up with Marvel if they actually took their time and made these movies slowly and decently well the MCU right now is very low, if not out of steam so we kinda got nothing better to watch so itd be prime time for a good DC cinematic universe

Well, he's vulnerable to magic, as in it can harm him. He doesnt have complete invulnerability to it. But its not a weakness in the same way as Kryptonite is. Superman took the biggest blast of magic in the history of magic and came right back with a Super flare. But yes, agree with almost everything youve said

there is a story in the comics and the cartoon where superman is brainwashed and turned evil, gets exposed to red kryptonite and turned evil, and alternative time lines where he's raised and is a dictator or an anti hero (somewhat) then there's just times when superman just goes dark side, but in this movie they do NONE of these things and come up with the worst plot for them to fight ever

I think this movie gets way too much hate because of how bad the theatrical cut is (even if the Director's Cut is still very flawed). About 70% percent of that cut's problems can be placed on the studio for either rushing out a cinematic universe or cutting up the movie into a mess when in editing.

4:00 No, Civil War was supposed to be like BvS, with the studio rushing the conflict movie between Cap and Tony ahead of time to compete with this film. Not that ANYONE at Marvel will ever admit to that given that Civil War ended up being the superior movie, but BvS was what was anticipated first.
