9:54 - Dude, You like HAZBIN HOTEL & HELLUVA BOSS Those are MUSICALS!
@memeboi694218 күн бұрын
I think the reason he doesn't like musical movies is because of how often the songs happen. With the shows, it happens every now and then but it isn't every 5 minutes.
@jchris1200018 күн бұрын
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss have their own world building and character building, some of us don't care for a forced song OR 2 DAMN IT every single time.
@SCP.34318 күн бұрын
Some musicals like, Joker Folie À Deux, artificially inject songs which don't fit the scenes or further the plot. Those can be jarring and feel like they distract from the story. If you want people to get into musicals recommend the top tier ones like Hamilton, Hazbin Hotel, Epic the musical.

Matthew Broderick was also the VA for adult Simba in the original Lion King

A live show is basically a movie/show that’s being filmed while it’s being broadcast on TV, a big example being Saturday Night Live. Any screw ups, whether it’s Broderick’s line flubbing or the microphones still being on after the dream sequence, will be seen by the public

Live Specials go all the way back to the 1950’s which is where the actors have one chance to get things right as the specials or other things are shown live on television and there was a bounce back for them when NBC did The Sound of Music Live in 2013 and followed it with ones of: Peter Pan in 2014, The Wiz in 2015, Hairspray in 2016 and Fox the same year did the musical Grease Live, Jesus Christ Superstar in 2018, How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 2020, Annie in 2021, Disney did a few as well: The Little Mermaid Live in 2019 on ABC, Hamilton (filmed version of the show) on Disney Plus, Beauty & the Beast a 30th Celebration in 2022,

You should watch Doug's review of the actual movie of A Christmas Story. 31:05 The original is definitely not a musical.
@jamesmoyner749919 күн бұрын
18:34 Annie is a musical based off a comic strip from the 1930’s about a little red haired orphan girl who is taken in by a rich bald man named Daddy Warbucks. It’s the musical where the song “The Sun’ll come out tomorrow.” comes from and there was a 1982 film adaptation that is awful and a 1999 Disney tv movie adaptation which is alright. Then another film adaptation was done in 2014 that is the best one that took it out of the 30’s and into modern day and changed Annie into a black girl which works so much better.

I’m a huge theater nerd, you know what, nerd’s not the name. How about theater psychopath? Because I love musical theater and everything to do with it. If you’re ever watching anything musical related, I’m your guy. All I will say is that most movie adaptations of stage musicals I love, suck. Sweeney Todd, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables (watch that review by the way in January, it’s one of the Critic’s best) have all been butchered by bizarre casting choices, subpar singing and come nowhere near to matching the size and scale of their original shows? How is it that they feel more cinematic than their cinematic adaptations? That’s honestly really sad.

The thing about musical films is they get the best takes and if something is off it’s usually intentional. If it’s live you can’t do that and have to either have someone who knows what they’re doing or rehearse an insane amount... which is a problem here since they seem to still be learning...

@theduckgoesmoo live stage play is what this is and there is a show called gotham about batman begins with the first season and the second season building Bruce Wayne see the city needs help and the third season he started to get escape artist stuff and fight better and start wear a kind of batman suit and fourth season you see him slowly a early batman design suit and wonder what he wants to do with this idea and him help the city . David mazouz who played Bruce was amazing he acts like Bruce Wayne from batman the animated series 90s .
