Suggestion: Top 10 Monsters with extremely unusual summoning requirements. Ex. Exosisters Magnifica is a rank 8 XYZ that specifically requires two rank 4 Exosister XYZ as materials, Tierra/Sophia/Avida having weird conditions, Ursarctic Polari, Tzolkin/Bishbaalkin, Number F0: Utopic Future, etc. Even better if we exclude monsters that also have normal summoning conditions, such as excluding Zeus, Thunder Dragon Colossus, and Utopic Draco Future.

​@@iseektheholygrail2055 Arment specifically can only summon an Exosister XYZ that doesn't share a name with any Exosisters you already control, so you already can't use Arment on a Magnifica into another Magnifica. You could use Zexal Field to attach one to another, but the "Must be XYZ summoned with the above materials." restriction is what stops you from using the second effect with another copy of itself.

Ptolemaeus was banned in tcg in April 2016, two years before Azathot was released. In the OCG, it was banned 1 week after Azathot release. It was legal in Korea where Azathot was initially released but Ptol ban in TCG had nothing to do with Azathot.

Raidraptor Force Strix is extremely strong too with Singing Lanius, is soft once per turn and gives all decks, that get out 3 Level 4 monsters without locking themselves access to Bardiche, 1-2 Infinity + the setup for Kali Yuga on your opponent's turn! I could pull that off in a Performapal Raidraptor Deck and even Yosenju Control!

Could you not use the effect of Wonder xyz to rank up nova during your opponent's turn? Wonder xyz's effect is simply to perform an xyz summon, Cyber dragon infinity states that 'you can xyz summon this card using a cyber dragon nova you control' as the material requirement. So couldn't this kind of play actually work?

All of these cards except for the evolzar ones use generic materials, which could lead you to do a similar list but the xyz monsters need specific materials like Madolche Queen Tiramisu, who is really good by being a double non target non destruction removal of any card on the opponents field

Agree with this - yeah, most of these have an archetype as the first word of their name, but I'd argue it takes more than that to be considered an "Archetypal" card - some kind of mention of the archetype in the text box, because most of these were used generically, rather than in their archetype

Honestly though, the number 1 ranking (for the combined version of this list) would either be Lavalval Chain or Shock Master (and I'm leaning more towards Shock Master because of how disgusting its effect is). Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if Duellogs just made both monsters share the number 1 rank.

Exciton yeah absolutely, thing has an incredible list of achievements, a whole stint on the forbidden list and sees play to this day almost a whole decade later. Minerva, kind of? It propelled Lightsworn to tier 1 for a year (maybe longer), but it was mostly notable for the fact it was a necessary card for a meta deck locked behind a ludicrous price tag. Then Lightsworn had already fallen off hard by the time it had gotten an accessible reprint.

Oh man, seeing those Evolzar's takes me back to when they first came out. I had an Evol deck that was just MEAN. Constant negates and bounces, with little to no answer in that era of Yu-Gi-Oh. Given that the other list of non-archetypal Rank 4s can only consider the generic impact of monsters, wouldn't it be more sensible to have a separate list ranking archetypal Rank 4s according to their impact within their own archetype and another list ranking them for their generic impact?

Some of these cards make you think "They had an archtype?" since you mostly stuff them in your deck as a good generic option since they can be easily slotted to any deck back then and never saw the archtype they in most of the time. I never thought Time Thief had an archtype, while Emeral i forgot that its part of an archtype and Chain i only knew since i had Rekindling and had the option to use Lavalval and experiment with it.

Time thief doesn’t have enough cards for a full deck, and Gustos don’t have a lot of lvl 4s. Prolly why you’d forget these cards are part of archetypes since they don’t really have good support from their own, but still good for a more generic option.

One of the things I love about Laggia and Dolka is that their effects are not once per turns at all. Laggia does have to detach both of its materials for the effect, but if you have more than one on field they're all live, and Dolka just gets two monster negates from the get-go. I'm actually having a hard time thinking of really good generic rank 4s that don't belong to archetypes besides Abyss Dweller, Silent Honor Ark, and Tornado Dragon. Castel was really good, but even it's technically part of an archetype. Hell, Honor Ark might be in an archetype, too, since it's a Water Monster with Silent in it's name.

Yeah, there's a bunch of cards that reference Number XYZs specifically. And 101 and above are a specific line of Numbers with their own special line of support because of how they were utilitzed by the Barian Emperors.

Yeah, 'technically', these cards are part of an archetype, but this video might as well be called Top 10 rank 4 monsters, considering most of them are completely generic. When I saw this title I really expected XYZ monsters that required archetype specific monsters to be summoned, such as Noble Knights or Madolches, or XYZs that have archetype-related effects, like Exosisters or Super Quantals.

Top 10 Monsters that are not of their Archetype's "main summoning type". Cydra was a Fusion Archetype, until Infinity f.e. Predaplants are the same, with Verte. Metalfoes were Pend until Electrumite etc. You get the idea. It's a bit like "Top 10 Legacy Support Cards", but not fully.
