I got confused when I saw other magician cards have higher numbers but in the end yu gi oh is a game of card effects. And the effect on dark magician says he is the ultimate wizard in terms of atk and def, so he wins anyway

Stardust Dragon is easily my favorite protagonist monster of all time. It negates effects by tributing itself. Its Spark variant is one of my favorite cards ever.

I still wish we got a majestic form for Black Rose Dragon and got more out of the whole Psychic Duelists being a thing in 5Ds, after the Dark Signer arc it was just abruptly ended without any care for its story potential not only for Akiza who could have had her own arc or two from the fallout of Sayer no longer being the Arcadia Movement's leader and someone else likely taking his place, but how Psychic Duelists feel about Akiza leaving the group and their treatment by the people of society that has openly feared and hated them for having powers they can't control, much like Akiza herself. She even LOST her powers out of nowhere for no clearly defined reason whatsoever! Talk about a waste of potential of a truly amazing and beautiful female character who had dueling prowess to keep up with the best of Team 5Ds. I still feel severely annoyed they let Aki lose in her team duel against Team Unicorn without taking a single member out, even after Jack lost before her. Forcing Yusei to face all three himself making her look weaker than she really is and nothing can convince this was nothing less than an insult to her skill as a duelist.

I find it hilarious that the reason Yusaku didn’t use Firewall Dragon that much because the writers find it difficult to right duels around it since it’s effects are THAT good. I’m glad Yusei and Aki’s boss monsters are considered really good!

Also because Firewall was banned so they weren't allowed to promote a banned monster, heck even in that Duel Power set what gave everyone all protagonist ace monsters with new art, they replaced Firewall with Decode Talker because it was banned when it released.

A couple not on this list that I'm a little surprised but maybe makes sense. Egyptian God Ra Sphere Mode - Would easily make the list because of it being a meta staple for a long time, but I'm guessing since it's not actual the boss Ra but a minor form and this card is more of a nod, maybe that's why it didn't count. Exodia - Obviously one of the most famous, and competitive it still kinda comes up now and then, and who knows what the new Exodo stuff will do if anything. But also maybe it doesn't count as a boss because you aren't really making it the same way Idk.

There's even more to Firewall Dragon's story; when trying to balance the game to compensate for its broken FTK potential, Konami really dragged their feet on actually hitting Firewall Dragon itself and limited or banned other cards in its combos, leading to things like ABC Dragon Buster's decks being crippled by the limiting of A Assault Core just because it had loop potential with Firewall's effect

Yeah with Firewall Dragon being Playmaker's main boss monster, Konami had to wait to ban it due to all the already too far into production episodes it was gonna show up in. So they had to do some temporary measures until they could actually hit FWD.

I actually run a deck that uses three of the monsters on this list: Crystal Wing, Stardust, and Black Rose. I have a deck that's based around Black Rose Dragon for the most part, but it has several possible combos that can set up a winning board. Black Rose is my all-time favorite Synchro Monster, and probably my #2 overall, second only to DMG.

BLS still has a lot of use in Duel Links. All of the Yugis have a skill that automatically drop a bunch of Light and Dark monsters in the Graveyard, letting you summon whatever BLS monster you want immediately. When the skill dropped, it ran rampant through Ranked Duels. It eventually got power crept by Neos Wiseman, Tenyi, and Tachyon Dragon, but it's still a strong skill.

I still use 101 in my shark deck in TCG because it's a great option for nash Knight uses as food for its effect and not a bad option for dealing with anoying monsters with floating effects like mirrorjade or other stuffs.

I really like this format of going through famous cards and talking about what context they appeared in in the anime or manga, and what characters used them, so I think you should do it more if you're ever hard up for video ideas. or, if you've already done a lot of them, maybe make a playlist or a compilation. I'm always interested in learning about the story theming of cards but I'm like, a grown adult so I'm not really gonna watch a multi-hundred-episode filler-laden kids anime just to find out, you know?

Shoutouts to Shooting Quasar Dragon, a boss monster that was so crazy it spawned a whole archetype of decks specifically dedicated to summoning it. Quasar was one of the first omni-negates that lived in the Extra Deck, and it also had insane OTK potential because it could attack two times minimum. It also floats into Shooting Star when it leaves the field, so it was difficult to out. Now, Quasar decks didn’t see that much competitive success, since most were basically Quasar or bust and didn’t have any other options. They were also particularly weak against Maxx C since they really couldn’t afford to stop Special Summoning once they got started. But on Dueling Network and YGOPro they were incredibly popular, particularly because it made you feel like an anime protagonist sinking all of your resources into summoning such a strong monster. Quasar is still a relevant monster in Synchron decks because the omni-negate is just that powerful. Quasar may not be that special of a monster anymore, but upon release it gave players a taste of the speed and power of the modern game while still demanding a lot of resources so the negate wasn’t overbearing. Many decks also couldn’t make Quasar turn 1 or make multiple Qyasars, so there were opportunities for counterplay, making for interesting games. As you can tell, I love Quasar. I think it’s the perfectly-designed Extra Deck omni-negate. It’s a monster I could see summoned a bunch and still enjoy watching players pop off. It’s anime powerful without being obnoxious.

The other thing to mention in regards to Chaos Emperor Dragon, in that particular duel Kaiba also used Dimension Fusion to special summon all his banished monsters back onto the field. That duel is honestly a testament to just how broken CED and Dimension Fusion are.

It's very hard to articulate it in a good title, but have you thought about Top 10 (or if there aren't that many, Top 5) Most Used Shared Card Names? For example, Harpies have quite a few cards that call themselves "Harpie Lady" on the field, Cyber Dragons have "Cyber Dragon", and a few Water Field Spells are "Umi". EDIT: I knew I was blanking on one other big one, but Skull Servants have "Skull Servant" in grave.

Yeah, I've been trying to build a modern King Tiger Deck on Master Duel for a while now! It has backup in the forms of Burden of the Mighty and Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer (no prizes for guessing why), alongside the ancient Trap Card, Light of Intervention! The idea is to Fuse Malicious with Denier and pairing their Summoning Power with Nemeses Corridor cuz Colossus is Unlimited on there! Anyway, the idea is to use these as a trio to Link Climb and Accesscode Talker stands as the pinnacle of potential outcomes, not only being able to gain an extra 3000 ATK on Summon, but also having three or more card pops! Also, I can jus as easily run Crystal Wing in my T.G. deck as I can Baronne de Fleur! Not least of all cuz I actually own a copy... of BOTH of them! (I still maintain that the Extra Deck versatility of T.G. is jus insane! Change my mind!)

fun facts: the number 16 in the anime cannot be destroyed by battle except by other numbers ( basic effect) and the floodgate effect remains per 2 of your oponent turns. and the topologic gumblar effect in the anime is more broken. first: the hand wipe effect destroys EVERY CARD in the oponent hand (maxx c players cry). second: the 3000 burn damage cannot be negated (yusaku to counter this he cut the damage in half 2x with the continuous trap card called drop frame wedge). third: he countain one extra effect if he has in the extra monster zone, all co linked monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects (including himself).

I don't think that negating the effects of the monster you attach is necessary, also this is a ridiculous beatstick for ritual decks (good thing it's got no protection). Btw, even tho it cannot be Xyz Summoned, it still needs materials listed. This can be seen with Gimmick Puppet Disaster Leo (or its chaos form).

Stop the Shock Master once and the game might just be over then and there. Definitely not how it would actually have gone in the anime, but fun to think about 😂

Arrival activate Cyberse city while Access activate Access network and as there fields clash Access field get bit overwhelmed then Arrival said. Arrival: Stand proud Access you are strong but am stronger. Access: Nah I'd win for you see there are three things you forgot to notice #1 my ability to negative your cards effects in response to mine effects #2 my ability to gain attack and to banish cards. Access: And #3 through out link varins and the meta i alone am the tier 0 one.
