How To Operate A Zero-Turn

Thanks. You laid this out simply. As a newbie, that was what I needed to watch. But I noticed a discrepancy between what you said and the Ariens manual I read this morning. The manual says this, "Engaging the PTO knob with the throttle level set lower than fast position can cause excessive belt wear. ALWAYS use fast position when engaging the PTO." That's counter-intuitive, but that's what it says.

My Bad Boy Rogue says to always engage PTO at full throttle. I guess they are all a little different.

The pros always say full throttle as well. I think that is so much wear and tear but the jury is still out. It could be better or worse. They last thousands of hours so who’s to say it’s because of what RPM you engaged it when it fails
