My history books in school spoke of none of this, Btw.. I hope she will get this feedback, and be encouraged to educate herself on the 100 years or so pre 7.10.23. from an unbiased perspective. Early in October I went and spoke to the priest about what we can do for Palestinians. He said what about Hamas? I walked away. At least Pope Francis finally spoke up. I think the fear of the antisemitic weapon being used was too much for many older Americans. The young have showed us “No, this genocide is wrong.” Let the Zionists use it. So what? I am hopeful for the young. I hope they are not silenced.

The Catholic and Protestant churches I went to ditto,.barely mentioned the genocide and it was very uncomfortable for me to stay in churches in the company of Christians and their leaders who were not actively calling for a ceasefire and discussing the atrocities of fascist Israeli regime. That's true. I go to mass at a couple of Catholic churches. No, they play it safe except for a few priests. The Cistertion monk Thomas Merton was killed by the CIA in Bangkok in 1968 for speaking out against the Viet Nam war. This current Pope has been outspoken about Gaza, but he is not held in high esteem by the church. Lots of discrepancies practiced that don't seem to follow The Sermon on The Mount.
