One year on & EI has just gone from strength to strength! Another fantastic compilation for the week. Because of time zones, & a busy life Im watching this in segments days after the livestream, but its just as compelling viewing in this part of the world as if I were in right time zone to catch it live. Dr Massad's segment lit me up & and I'll be watching it again several times, it was so packed with information. It also galvanised me into getting back out on the street again today to protest alongside our Palestinian community here in Ōtautahi Christchurch New Zealand. They dont give up & neither should we. Good news: London, September 27, 2024 -- Moody's Ratings (Moody's) has today downgraded Government of Israel's long-term local and foreign-currency issuer ratings to Baa1 from A2. Also, the naval port of Eilat has had to declare bankruptcy due to its mismanagement of the conflict in Gaza.

I was aware of the illegality of Israel’s occupation and some of the horrors it was inflicting pre-Oct 7, but your site and livestream quickly became regular viewing for me after the post-Al Aqsa flood escalation. have learned so much from you and the wide range of guests who have shared their knowledge, experiences, stories and heartbreak. As you all know, apart from Al Jazeera and some small outlets such as Middle East Eye, The Grayzone, Breakthrough News (among others) there is a real absence of this much-needed context, honesty, humanity and on-the-ground perspective in English-language media. So nerve-racking to see the recap of your first episode. Us viewers watching may not have the weapons, firepower or political influence necessary to stop this, but at least you have opened our eyes to what is happening and for that we owe you a great deal of gratitude.

Professor Massad is absolutely correct in his analysis of western liberal democracy. Genocide of other races or nations is central to western liberal democracy. The democracy that they speak of is only applicable to their own. Hence the Americans, French, Spaniards, the Germans and British, to name a few, had no qualms in enslaving Africans, the indigenous people of America and the Arabs while speaking of freedom and human rights in the same breath. They will even do it to their own people who fall out of line which we saw happen to European Jews leading to the Holocaust. The irony is that the same European Jews are now doing to the Arabs and Palestinians what they suffered in the hands of their own people, using the same tools of denigration, lies and mass destruction.

Egypt is controlled by a puppet government, when EI speaks about American Imperialism you can include all actions by Egypt too. The US has had Egypt as a puppet for decades now, Egypt was #2 recipient of US military aid until the Ukraine war, behind “israel.” I cannot speak for EI but I share their ideological position and I believe the focus on the US largely because they are the one responsible ultimately, so focusing on individual actions of those puppets controlled by US Empire isn’t as important. I see where you are coming from though, it is tragic what has been done to Egypt. They went from the backbone of Arab Nationalism, the state backer for Palestinian resistance, to a staunch ally of “israel” and a puppet of the US. The closest Egypt came to leaving the US influence was the brief control that the Muslim Brotherhood had after the removed Mubarak in 2011, but a pro-US coup happened soon after with current President Sisi.

There’s a good point to be made that Turkey isn’t turning off the oil because you can’t become a reliable energy supplier if you start turning it off for people. It’s the same reason Russia continued providing energy to Germany even after they were essentially at war with NATO. Wasn’t until after the US blew up Nordstream that it changed.
