Two rules that I always follow: 1.) Saphir Médaille d'Or Pommadier Cream Polish is only ever left to dry for 10 mins max. Once it sets solid, this cream becomes stubborn to spread and blend. 2.) I use my bare fingers with this same product (less is more), and make sure to NEVER start the dab onto any brogue holes. I always start from a clear expanse of leather and gently spread out. By the time my fingers touch the holes, it's just a super thin smear, with no danger of filling with gunk. Sounds so obvious, but this mistake if often made.
