Wow, Esme, you trained your human really well. You had him chopping all that wood, setting up the tent and the bed, you got it made. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I like the tent. Looks like the stove will have no problem keeping you warm.

Looked like a lovely weekend. Not to cold, not to hot the weather here is getting pretty nice pretty quick. Our snow is almost gone. We had a few day here of really nice weather. I have 4 more weekends of tax season then I’m gonna do some yard camping to tryout some new gear. With gas. Prices the way they are not sure how many away trips there will be but I’m good with yard camping at least I have a great back yard. Cheers my friend.

Hey Colleen - I'd recommend a quilt if you are looking for light weight and packability. Go for something pretty wide you can wrap around on cold mornings. I really like the Enlightened Equipment gear enlightenedequipment.com/revelation-stock/. I'd go with the 950, 0f bag, regular wide. Not cheap at $400 but it will last a long time and it feels like a cloud hugging you all night. It also has mat straps to keep quilt and mat together if you move around. Hope that helps! 👍

Hello Micheal and Esme, like the tent, the cot is a little too expensive for my taste, I'll stick to my heavy folding cot. You like your sausages like I do, burnt somewhat. I don't care for that folding stack. It's kind of weird seeing the Jeep instead of the Can Am. Guess it's something I will have to get use to. All in all, a good video. Thanks for sharing.

And, there's Michael using his thinker-thunker at every turn on this adventure! Nice pro-tip for the stake/line spacing tool, good idea on cutting up high and then chunking the bottom in bits. And, a brilliant tip on rolling the stack at an angle and then straight. I'd love to see something on the longer leg Helinox cot. I haven't been able to find it online yet. Am I just blind and stupid ? Would a small bit of bungee between the guy lines and the stake help to keep things more taught? Great outing, always a pleasure to see your camping trips... especially when you have your trusty four-legged helpers afoot too.

Can you do a first burn of any stove inside of a tent? Or is it just this type of stove? I thought the first burn gave off some toxic gases?
@TheEmporiumOutdoors
@TheEmporiumOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Generally if it's stainless or titanium they don't contain many oils like steels stoves especially if painted. You can burn them "in" inside a tent but just keep it well ventilated. It may leave some residual smell initially but will soon be replaced with the typical wood burning smell 👍

Hahaha - the pricing is a little crazy but that was the best cot at the time with that style of leg. The Helinox also has a 5 year warranty and I can get parts after that if needed. For fit, finish and longevity - I'd wager the Helinox is a better cot 😉

@@TheEmporiumOutdoors You probably skipped over the part where I said it's virtually identical. The leg style is EXACTLY the same as mine, same color too. And BOTH have aluminum frame. And I can buy 5 of my cots for the cost of one Helinox. Don't misunderstand me, Helionox makes a good products, but not FIVE times better than the FE Active cot.
