The Whitehouse had Baker Electric vehicles for deliveries and pick up of supplies. The truck had a bed that could lower and raise to match the businesses dock and were pretty cool 4 wheel steer vehicle.

I thought the Black trailer had solar panels you could run the A/C off of, or at least charge the batteries as you're using it. You need a small Honda generator to take with you for power. Their EU10i runs at just 52 decibels (55 decibles is comparable to two people having a conversation) so it's not going to disturb people very much, if at all, and can run appliances and recharge the trailer batteries

The Iowa-80 is a must stop on our trips back and forth to Chicago to see our son and wife. The first time we came out from Chicago to see our daughter and family we spent 2&1/2 hours roaming around it. Now we live here in Iowa and it's a nice travel break, lot's of food choices may not be the best but at least you can fill up on your favorite comfort food. Super busy all the time. Congrats you made a great video about one of the most boring states in the country, I mean come on the State Fair is the most popular event of the year and they don't mess around.

Iowa 80 truck stop is noted for many things, but one thing they are not noted for is microwave food. What you were eating was home cooked, and the sauce is also home made. Though you showed the many things in your video, you forgot to mention that they cater to not only truckers, but to the most important part of the life of a trucker, his fur-kid. Most truckers now have small dogs with them, and the truck stop caters to them also. Being from Iowa, and a former trucker, Iowa 80 is an oasis after driving the miles across the state. I do like seeing you guys and the states you cover, and hope one day you will find your way on I-10in Arizona and stop at the TA, so I can meet chuck the truck, and of course you guys. If you are driving past Madison Wisconsin it is worth the drive to take Highway 14 out of Madison towards LaCrosse instead of the interstate. You can see some of the area that was not glaciated and has rolling hills and bluffs.

I was thinking of you guys today as we were Spyder ryding in the Cedar Rapids vicinity. Mount Pleasant is not a bad place - my husband worked there for over a decade - just not a good first impression when you are having vehicle problems. So glad you found Walcott! Iowa has many treasures depending on your interests. An especially unique area is the Driftless area in the far northeast corner - Wacon, Postville, Lancing,, New Albany - so named because it escaped the glacial drift which leaves it with its own unique geography. The Loess Hills on the west side is another Iowa geography feature. Did you know that Iowa is the only state bordered by two rivers: the Mississippi on the east, and the Missouri on the west. Enjoy your stay!

I'm in Iowa City and I have driven past that truck stop many times over in my lifetime and have never explored it the way you two had! I LOVED that museum! So cool! There was actually a school bus and diy truck camper parked next to us in the RV parking area with generators running...but there were definitely tons of reefers in the truck parking area too. It was like a generator sound machine out there 🎶😆

My dad restored vintage cares…like a 1935 Chrysler convertible & 1939 Dodge sedan (among more). He was in the process of restoring a 1956 Dodge sidestep pickup when he died at 92. It takes more than 2 years to restore a care from frame up and a LOT of money! That’s why you can’t touch the vehicles. The Vintage Car Clubs throughout North America have meetups & tours so when they gather so do their cars & of course you can look (but don’t touch!) at them & what’s really cool is to talk to the owners. We were at a get together of vintage & old vehicles with his 39 Dodge, it had a gorgeous maroon paint job with hand painted pin stripe & some moron with a big ring on his hand patted the fender & said “nice paint job”…I witnessed it & thought that I’m glad Dad didn’t see that!
