If you come through this way again you need to stop in Augusta Wisconsin an have a burger at gup's an the loaded fries. For the best cheese curds Milwaukee burger is my favorite. Altoona family restaurant is best breakfast. These are just my favorite! Glad you enjoyed your time in our little neck of the woods. Geez, you are so close the the North Shore of Lake Superior. You should go to Duluth, Minnesota, then up the North Shore to Split Rock Light House. Well worth the visit. Lots of beautiful waterfalls and State Parks in that area. Oh, and DON'T MISS a visit to Palisade Head not far from the Light House. Great place to stay is Cove Point Lodge in that area. Amazing place on the Lake. All rooms have a view of the Lake and great room options.

I grew up 60 miles north of Eau Claire. Thanks for highlighting the area and I especially enjoyed the artwork. I’m surprised you didn’t visit the Leinenkugel brewery in Chippewa Falls. I do miss paddling down the Chippewa River.

I had a great time in Wisconsin a few years back. Went to a Fish fry Friday, imbibed a good quantity of local beer, which was awesome btw. The locals were curious about this English bloke but welcoming and friendly. Can't wait to go back!

This was such a pleasure to watch! I went to college at UWEC and live only a couple hours from Eau Claire now. On hot summer days we used to float down the river in tubes sipping a bevvy.
